Collaborative project between Stickkontakt (Sweden) and C.H.O.L.O (Peru) that focuses on exploring the possibility of textile as alternative language and its political potential in the public space.
This project is conceived as a laboratory to investigate textile (knitting) as a possible medium and subject in contemporary art practices, focusing on identity and representation in society by taking part in the construction of urban landscape.
Earlier this year, both groups engaged into web based conversations to exchange ideas, techniques and systems they usually work with, resulting in the communitarian knitting project ”Tapestry of collective memory” in Lima and “Stripped down Shut off” in Stockholm.
