Described as ‘un peu shocking’, Noël Coward’s youthful drama was a huge, but scandalous, success at its premiere. The relationship between the decadent, drug-addicted Nicky Lancaster and his flamboyant mother, Florence, still packs an extraordinary punch. Stephen Unwin’s fresh and radical production features the award-winning international film actress Kerry Fox, and David Dawson and Sophie Rundle, two of our most brilliant young stars. The cast also includes the much-loved James Dreyfus (The Thin Blue Line, Gimme Gimme Gimme, Notting Hill) and Helen Atkinson Wood (Mrs Miggins in Blackadder the Third).

Bri is a school teacher. His wife, Sheila, loves amateur dramatics. But their daughter Josephine is more than they bargained for and life is getting difficult… This fast-paced black comedy blazes with the love and pain, anger and strain of a young couple raising a seriously disabled child. Highly theatrical, frequently heart wrenching and often very funny, A Day in the Death of Joe Egg (1967) is one of the finest plays of the modern British theatre. 2013 is a bumper year for Peter Nichols, with West End revivals of Privates on Parade (1977) and Passion Play (1981).

‘ An unmistakeably great play’ The Daily Telegraph

SUPPORT US The Rose is home to a variety of quality and diverse live performances that entertain, engage and inspire our audiences. Having reached our landmark fifth birthday, we are in good shape to do more and to continue to push the boundaries of our cultural offerings. This wouldn’t be possible without the invaluable support of the Royal Borough of Kingston and Kingston University and, above all, our audiences. Here’s how you can do your bit to help the Rose continue to grow:

Join Us

From just £30 as a Friend, you will receive special benefits as you help us to grow both on and off stage.

Play Your Part

Become a Production Patron and help us purchase the many props and costumes needed to bring a Rose Production to life; from shoes and sleighs to dresses and daggers.

Engage Your Business

We excel at establishing bespoke and rewarding partnerships, offering a range of membership, advertising and sponsorship opportunities.

Name a Seat

From £250 you can name a seat in our beautiful auditorium. A great way to remember a loved one, celebrate a special occasion or leave your mark at the Rose.

Hire Us

We have many spaces that may be just what you are looking for. Hold your next party, training day or meeting at the Rose.

Volunteers

If you can spare four or more hours a month and would like to become involved in the operational activity of the Rose, then please let us know. It’s fun, sociable and provides the ideal opportunity for skills sharing.

Drama has always been a huge part of Italian life. The street is a stage in Italy; it presents the opportunity to create a spectacle at any given moment.

At Carluccio’s, this spirited approach makes us who we are. We’re noisy about food. We taste it, we try it, we argue about it until it’s exactly right. It’s the Italian way – and it’s how we’ve worked since 1991.

For a taste of good food and drama pop into one of our Caffès for a warm Italian welcome!
