Students at Rosebery School embark on an incredible journey of joyful & ambitious learning, exploration, and adventure beyond the classroom. With a diverse range of trips spanning academic subjects, cultural experiences, and enrichment opportunities, every year group has the chance to broaden their horizons.

Whether it’s walking in the footsteps of history, experiencing world-class theatre, or engaging in handson science and technology, these trips bring learning to life in unforgettable ways.

Our curriculum-linked trips deepen students’ understanding of their subjects. During 2024-25 Year 7 artists found inspiration at Wisley Gardens, Year 8 historians travelled to at the Somme Battlefields, and Year 9 students reflect on the past at the Epsom Clock Tower Remembrance Service, and Year 11 geographers ventured to Sorrento, Italy, for fieldwork. provoking experiences such as the US Politics Today 2024 conference at the British Library or the Back to the Future theatre trip in London.

Beyond academics, Rosebery students embraced new challenges and adventures. Year 10s hit the slopes at Les Deux Alpes, Sixth Formers soak up the festive atmosphere at the Lille Christmas Markets, and Duke of Edinburgh participants test their endurance in the Peak District. From Robotics Club competitions to silent discos, PGL residentials, and theatre trips to Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen, there was something for everyone. These experiences not only enrich learning but also created lifelong memories, friendships, and personal growth—making every trip an opportunity to learn, explore, and thrive.

This guide outlines the remarkable & proud journey of trips that your daughter could go on throughout the year. However, please note that this is our initial plan, and trips are subject to change. Each trip will be launched with a letter detailing full information, including costs, to ensure you have all the necessary details before booking.

Year 7 PGL Residential – Osmington Bay, Dorset

A thrilling outdoor adventure awaits Year 7 students at PGL Osmington Bay! Nestled on the stunning Jurassic Coast, this action-packed residential trip is filled with activities such as rock climbing, abseiling, archery, and team-building challenges. It’s the perfect opportunity for students to build confidence, develop friendships, and create unforgettable memories!

Children in Need Movie Night

A cozy and fun-filled evening where students come together to enjoy a fantastic film while raising money for an important cause! With popcorn, laughter, and a great atmosphere, this event is a highlight of the school year, combining entertainment with charitable giving.

Year 7 Pantomime or Theatre Visit

Get ready for an exciting cultural experience! Our Year 7 students will attend a local pantomime or theatre production, bringing the magic of live performance to life.

Year 7 Art Trip to RHS Wisley

Budding artists will have the chance to immerse themselves in the breathtaking beauty of RHS Wisley. This inspirational visit allows students to explore vibrant gardens, sketch nature’s finest details, and discover how art and the environment intertwine. A creative and calming experience in the heart of nature!

Activities Week – Rosebery Zoology

A week full of adventure and discovery! One of the highlights is a visit to Whipsnade Zoo, where students will get up close with incredible wildlife, from majestic lions to playful penguins. This engaging and educational experience offers insights into conservation, animal behaviour, and the wonders of the natural world. before students embark on their next adventure.

This year, our Year 8 students will embark on a series of unforgettable trips designed to bring history to life, spark creativity, and immerse them in the magic of storytelling! With history brought to life, the wonders of magic, and the excitement of the stage, this year’s trips promise adventure, learning, and unforgettable memories.

Year 8 History Day Trip – Somme Battlefields

A powerful and moving journey to the historic battlefields of the Somme. Students will explore key sites, including memorials, trenches, and cemeteries, gaining a deep understanding of World War I’s impact. This immersive trip provides a meaningful connection to history, honouring those who fought and reflecting on the lessons of the past.

Activities Week - Year 8 Residential

An action-packed residential experience focused on teambuilding, resilience, and friendship bonding. Through exciting outdoor challenges, adventure activities, and problemsolving tasks, students will develop confidence, leadership, and teamwork skills—all while making lifelong memories with their peers.

Theatre Trips to London (Drama Students) Drama students will have the chance to experience the magic of live theatre in London’s iconic West End. Whether it’s a gripping drama, a thought-provoking play, or a spectacular musical, these trips will inspire students with world-class performances, bringing the power of storytelling to life.

Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme – Bronze

An exciting journey of self-discovery and resilience! Students taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award will develop key life skills, including teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving. With expedition challenges, volunteering, and new personal achievements, this prestigious award is a fantastic way to build confidence and independence.

An adrenaline-filled day of fun and excitement awaits at Chessington World of Adventures! Ski Trip – Les Deux Alpes, France

An unforgettable winter adventure! Students will hit the slopes in the stunning Les Deux Alpes, one of France’s top ski resorts.

Science Trip – Euro Space Camp, Belgium

An out-of-this-world experience! Science students will head to Euro Space Camp in Belgium, where they’ll take part in astronaut training simulations, robotics challenges, and space exploration workshops.

Religious Studies Trip – Southwark Cathedral

A visit to the magnificent Southwark Cathedral offers Religious Studies students a chance to explore the history, architecture, and spiritual significance of this iconic place of worship.

Year 10 GCSE Science Trip – Science Live!

Science students will have the exciting opportunity to attend Science Live! an inspiring event where some of the UK’s top scientists bring cutting-edge research and discoveries to life.

Maths in Action – Emmanuel Centre

Maths enthusiasts will attend Maths in Action at the Emmanuel Centre, where expert speakers will demonstrate the real-world impact of mathematics.

Geography Field Trip – River Tillingbourne

A hands-on field study of the River Tillingbourne, where students will investigate river processes, erosion, and flood management.

Duke of Edinburgh – Silver Award

Geography Field Trip – Guildford

Residential trips & limited spaces

On trips with limited availability, we will offer places via ballot to ensure the fairest process. If your daughter would like to attend, please register using the link in the trip letter.

If you are successful in gaining a place, you will be informed by the set date, along with payment details. If we have not received a deposit by the set date, the place will be allocated to someone on the waitlist.

Those who are unsuccessful will be contacted and will remain on a waiting list. You will be informed if places become available, these again will initially be by ballot and then on a first come first served basis.

Theatre trips and revision courses

We will always try to get enough tickets for the students but not always possible. In this case tickets will be offered on a first come first serve basis.

Payment Plans

The payment plan is a guide, we do ask that you meet the payments on the relevant dates shown, however you can also make earlier payments. Please note, once your daughter has been allocated a place, the deposit is non-refundable. If a student withdraws from the trip at a later stage, tour operator cancellation charges will apply and there is a risk therefore, that further payments will not be refunded if we cannot find another student to take up the place.

Students who are in receipt of Free School Meals can request, in confidence, financial assistance for curriculum trips from the Headteacher via trips@roseberyschool.co.uk

If you are in receipt of any of the following payments and require financial support to fund a trip, please contact trips@roseberyschool. co.uk in confidence: Income-based Jobseekers Allowance, Income-related Employment and Support Allowance, Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999, The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit, Daughter Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit), Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit or Universal Credit.

Medical & Dietary requirements

Closer to the trip we will be asking parents for:

• Up-to-date medical information

• Details on what medication their daughter needs to take

• Details of any medical conditions (including mental health conditions)

• Details of emergency medical treatment

• Consent for staff to administer medications

• Emergency contacts

The school reserves the right to withdraw any student attending the trip whose medical conditions (including mental health conditions) cannot be supported. Please be aware that there may be scaled financial implications for parents/ carers if your daughter is withdrawn from the trip under these circumstances. It is the parents’/ carers’ responsibility to inform the school of any new medical conditions (including those related to mental health) from the time of the deposit being paid until the day of departure.

Terms of inclusion

Inclusion on trips and activities is dependent upon acceptable attendance (91%+) and exemplary behaviour from launch until departure. The school reserves the right not to include any student whose attendance is not acceptable or whose behaviour indicates that they may not be a good ambassador for the school.

We are required to carry out our agreed risk assessments for all trips and activities. This includes the mitigation of risks to all participants. Whilst we would like every student to be able to participate in non-essential, extra-curricular trips, in a limited number of circumstances, acute physical, medical or safeguarding issues may mean it is not possible for your daughter to attend. Where this is likely to be an issue, we will contact you directly at the earliest opportunity.

Withdrawal

If, at any time, you wish to withdraw your daughter from the trip, you are required to notify us in writing. We will acknowledge your cancellation within seven working days of receipt of your letter, but you should be aware that a sliding scale of cancellation charges will apply.

Residential Trips

An Information Evening for all residential trips will be held after school, prior to the trip. The meeting will last approximately one hour and will offer parents the opportunity to review the itinerary, confirm transportation arrangements, meet the trip team, and ask any questions they may have.

Insurance

We are a member of Risk protection arrangement (RPA) for academy trusts. The RPA is not an insurance scheme but is a mechanism through which the cost of risks that materialise from 1 September 2014 will be covered by government funds
