´The rest of the day the students worked in groups with Gymkhana.

The teachers program was some what different. Marifé and her team showed us the school. The school was very new and very well organised. We had the opportunity to watch the very young students learn English. Both teacher and students seemed to have so much fun.

After a short coffee break it was time for some serious work - the final report. Thanks to Nevzat, the British coordinator`s, extensive preparation we managed to have a lot of progress.

After a very tasty lunch at school it was time to visit the local attractions; Molinos de Viento, a windmill and the church “The Virgin of Pasico”.

Tuesday the 27:th of May Culture and Calamares

Today it was time for cultural visits. In the bus we sang our “Comenius Song” Mambo nr 5, with special lyrics written in Germany by Marcus from the German team.

After a short rid we ended up in Cartagena, where visited the Civil War Refugees. It was very interesting to learn more about Cartagenas history. “I learned alot, even if I teach History, said swedish coordinator.

“It has been two amazing years We also had the opportunity to visit a that we have viewpoint. It was amazing to look out over worked together the beautiful city.

but everything Then it was time to take a new perspective , Cartagena from the sea. It was a lovely day good has to to be on a boat.

come to an end.”

Our students Tove and Lilliana are admiring the windmill. -We wish our head teacher Kent was here so he could show us how to calculate how big the sails were.

After a short trip on the ocean it was time to walk back to the bus for a short trip to our next stop which was the lighthouse in Cabo the Palos. From the view point it was something written in Spanish on the ground. Encarna told us that the question on the ground said; “Do you want to marry me?” But during our stay nobody popped the question…

We spent the rest of the day on the beach. The teachers had lunch in a Kvarnbyskolan - Sweden

restaurant on the beach where we tried a local speciality, small calamares and red rice. The rest of the afternoon we all went swimming and playing on the beach. It was just one of those perfect days!

Wednesday 28:th of May Murcia and Mar Menor After yesterdays perfect program we were eager to see more of the region. Today we visited Murcia. Marifé had arranged for to meet up with local guides to learn more about Murcia.

We here told a lot about Murcia´s rich history and visited many places of interest, worth to mention was the Cathedral. It took more than 600 years to finalise the Cathedral, so within the same building you saw a lot of different architectonic styles. We were also walking trough town and saw many interesting buildings and were told stories about them.

Then we had some time to explore Murcia on our own….

The rest of the afternoon we spent on the beautiful beach of Mar Menor. What a treat when you come from cold Sweden to sit in the sun, take a swim in the sea and walk on the long sandy beach. When we thought that life couldn't be better the host families arrived with food. We were served amazing home cooked food on the beach.

Thursday 29:th of May Mayor, meeting and magic Today we were back in Torre Pacheco. We started the day by visiting the Town Hall were we were greeted by the Mayor.

After a short walk back to school it was time for some more work. The students had a workshop to learn how to create videos with iPads.

- It was great, said the swedish student Tove.

- I hope we can show the videos to our friends when we come home, said the other swedish student Lilliana.

When the students were enjoying themselves the teachers sunk their teeth into the second part of the final report. Yet again Nevzat led us trough the report and gave us guidance.

In the evening we had the opportunity to see “Pasico Suena” show. It was magical to see all the talent the teenagers had. They gave us a show we will never forget filled with different kinds of music, comedy, modern dancing and ballet.

Tears and “Thank you” After a very eventful week it was time for the students to say “Good bye”.

I´d like to say thank you to MarifÊ and the Spanish team for all their hard work in preparing and finalising this marvellous week in Torre Pacheco.

I also like to thank the host families for giving my students a home away from home.

Last but not least I´d like to say thank you to all the coordinators. It has been a privilege to get to know you all! Each and every one of you have taught me so many new things. I hope this is not the end but the beginning of a long friendship.
