In Colonial Choson(1890~1940s), the Japanese government constructed Gyeokbyeokjang(A place of separated walls) for effective manageability and interruption of communication with each other. this is a portrait of Jermy Bentham’s ponopticon. Gyeokbyeokjang would have enabled surveillants to watch prisoners from the center. My images intuitionally showed ‘A surveillance society’ through the symbol of Gyeokbyeokjang as “Red Wall.”
