SCIENCE Year 7 This term Year 7 students have been studying ecology. As part of their project for this unit was a trip to Nurragingy where the students observed the interaction of organisms within an ecosystem. A great fun day was had by all students and staff that attended. Well done Year 7.

On Tuesday November 4 Katherine Khov received the prestigious Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute Science Award for outstanding achievement in Senior Science. Katherine was presented with her award by the Mayor of Blacktown, Councillor Stephen Bali. Congratulations Katherine, well done! Year 10 Year 10 students spent this term planning and conducting experiments for display at the Rooty Hill high School annual Science Fair. This year’s Science Fair was a great success with students from Years 7 to 9, and the Executive staff attending and talking to the year 10 students about their fascinating projects. Year 8 Year 8 students completed the ESSA Online Exam this term. It was the first time these students had sat an exam for Science that was entirely online. The exam ran smoothly with the students using the new Google Chrome books. Congratulations Year 8.
