Premier Ford attends National Ethnic Press Party

By Jonathan Baah Annobil, Toronto

The Polymenakin Cultural Centre, (St. Demetrios) on 30 Thorncliff Park Drive, Toronto was the venue of this year’s Ethnic Press & Media Council of Canada, (NEPMCC) end of year get-together. The spacious hall was filled to capacity with members, families and guests. Premier of the Ontario, Doug Ford, was the special guest who graced the occasion and mingled with the attendees and chatted and took photographs and left due to his very tight schedule.

After the introduction of the MCs for the night Mr. Roberto Hausman and Mrs. Maria Voutsinas-Saras, the event got started with singing of the National anthem by Ms Vanessa Wheatle. Mr. Thomas Saras, CEO and President of NEMPCC, thanked all for coming and stated that he was happy for 2 reasons. “We have to fight and we have to understand that together we are one and we fighting for the same ideals” he remarked.

Rev. Isaac De-Graft Takyi

Snr. Pastor of the Living Word Assembly of God (LWAG) Rev. Isaac De-Graft Takyi urged the Christian community in Toronto emulate the philanthropic works of Santa Claus. He delivered the sermon on Christmas Day, 25 December, 2019 from the pulpit in Toronto. Rev. Issac DeGraft Takyi tasked the congregants to be charitable and generous to their neighbors and this will draw them to Jesus Christ. He said: ‘’Christmas is a time of gifts. I trust that you also got a gift. The modern world focuses on Santa and most kids look up to Santa for surprises.
