Ontario’s young leaders heading to Accra, Ghana for the African Youth and Governance Conference T h e A f r i c a n Yo u t h Governance Conference (AYGC) is an annual gathering hosted by the Youth Bridge Foundation, a non-profit organization founded in Ghana focused on harnessing Africa’s greatest resource — its youth. The 10th AYGC, taking place in Accra, Ghana from Aug. 5-12, is themed “Mobilizing the Youth to
Build a Continent Beyond Aid.” The conference’s theme is in accordance with President Nana Akufo-Addo’s vision of environmental, social, political and economic development without the crippling dependency from the international community. Nana Obeng Daafour II Amid pomp and pageantry, Nana Obeng Daafuor II was coroneted at a colorful durbar in Toronto. The coronation was held on Saturday, July 21st, 2018 at the Apostles’ Continuation Church banquet hall. The ceremony was organized by the Kwahu Community of Toronto in conjunction with Okwahu United of North America and the Ghanaian-Canadian Truckers Association.

Group picture of pastors in prayer mood In response to the spate of violent killings in the streets of Toronto which has affected our community, the Ghanaian Ministerial Fellowship of Toronto (GMFT) with the support from the Ghanaian-Canadian Association of Ontario (GCAO), organized a night of prayer
“Seeking God’s divine intervention for the Ghanaian community. The vigil was held at the Apostles’ Continuation Church International at 10 Belfield Road, Etobicoke on Friday July 20, 2018. In attendance were pastors of the various community churches as well as their members
and some GCAO executives. Intensive intercessary prayers were offered for the protection of the community at large with emphasis on our youth and children. Various pastors took turns to lead the prayers. The night of prayer was promoted by the shooting of 31 year old Jenas Nyarko
