Consumer electronics show or CES as it is popularly called is an annual technology affair that takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is the biggest technology conference of the world that involves the unveiling of some of the latest developments in the field.
CES was started in June 1967 in New York City with over 17,000 visitors and 100 exhibitors. Till the year 1994, CES was organized twice in a year; in Las Vegas during the winters and in Chicago during the summers (June). When the summer show began losing its popularity, it was reduced to just one show during the year, which was held in January only since the year 1998. Since then it has become a nexus for all the major technological players to showcase their concepts and demonstrate it to the public. So now that your interest is at its peak, let’s look at a few intriguing features of this mega show: Consumer electronic show is organized every year by the Consumer Technology Association which is the trade organization of all the technology-based firms of the United States of America. Currently, there are 2,200 companies registered with it, all of them following its standards and rules. The venue for the show covers around 2.5 million square feet area. There are 11 total venues, divided into 24 product types and 20 market areas. There were more than 4,500 companies which displayed their work at CES in the year 2018.
