Making the Move To Better Business Banking We know that your time is valuable. That’s why we work to make every aspect of your banking relationship simple and efficient, including the transition to your new accounts and services with us. Here’s an overview of the items to consider when you make the move.

OPENING YOUR NEW BURKE & HERBERT BANK ACCOUNT

We’ll need to gather some specific information to open your new accounts, including: • •

Company and company contact names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses Organizational documentation such as articles of organization, by-laws (if applicable), Tax ID and confirmation (IRS SS-4 or 147C letter), certificate of good standing, beneficial ownership information, a completed questionnaire regarding anticipated account activity, and operating agreement (if applicable). For non-profits, documentation needed includes official minutes of a board meeting identifying individuals authorized to act on bank accounts and an IRS tax exemption letter.

CLOSING YOUR OLD BUSINESS ACCOUNTS

Once your checks have cleared and all automatic payments and direct deposits are moved to your new account, it is time to close your old account. Notify your previous bank to close your account and send remaining funds to your new account. Destroy old checks and cards.
