The Alternative To Dysfunction Inspiring Your Ministry in 2015 and Beyond Focusing Upon Psalm 133~Three Verses of Biblical Direction Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil or ointment upon the head, that ran or is running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge or to the skirts of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion; for there the LORD commanded the blessing—Life forevermore. Church should be the place where the Word of God sets the 'good' and 'pleasant' atmosphere for the entire congregation. Here in Psalm 133 the writer uses the exclamation -behold- to describe such an experience. Verses two and three highlight descriptions of this unity, these descriptions are set forth in the 'how good' and 'how pleasant' atmospherics of the text. For Thought Provoking Discussion: What is the sociology {social needs, problems, economics, crime, etc} surrounding your church? What 'how good' and 'how pleasant' nomenclature should comprise the church that make it so refreshing to come there? While the first reading of verse one is in an exclamatory phrase and end with an exclamation point, for examination and suggestive purposes, I which to end it with a question mark as I apply an evaluative search upon it for mine and your congregation. I ask, just how good and how pleasant in unity in my congregation? I pondered, where was 'Good' first mentioned, and how is 'pleasant' derived? Well off to the Book of Genesis I go. What did God do for six days which serves as direction for our congregation and make it the first place on a seventh day where you can find refreshment of that good and pleasantry in and for living. Review Genesis 1:1-2:1-3, read it before? I know it is a loaded question, but How Creative is God? He sets the standard, he begins with nothing but a thought. Before we can have unity among brethren in the Lord's Church, we must have at least His thought about unity. Since He is the 'standard', this thought can only be transformational through Him! Where is the word 'good' first mentioned in the Creation account and prayerfully, how can it be activated for transformation within congregations? What had been created that made Creation earn that standard of 'good'? What do you think we need to do in our church to earn our 1st 'good', 2nd 'good', 3rd 'good', 4th 'good' 5th 'good', 6th 'good' and 7th level of good? How can a better pleasantry be established? 'How good and how pleasant' can the unity of our church and its families be?
