FROM THE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD Thank you and congratulations to each donor and friend of RCA from the entire Board of Trustees. RCA is enjoying further growth and new expansion thanks to your efforts and support. This year was focused on turning visions into reality, and this happened because of each of you - the individual donors, founders, teachers, staff, parents and volunteers. An expanded teacher training facility has been a dream and vision for over six years. Many people made a significant impact as they poured their hearts and souls into the efforts of design, construction, execution, and fundraising to work with Ron and Kim on their vision. We are now very proud to be able to state that the new teacher training facility is completed, open and an absolutely amazing place. As Lewis Carroll stated,
“One of the secrets of life is all that is really worth the doing is what we do for others.”

The capital campaign committee and the Board raised nearly $5 million dollars in a just over a year’s time. The construction team, comprised of Collins Cooper Carusi Architects, J.E. Dunn Construction, and project manager volunteers from Selig Enterprises (Bonnie Dean and Adam McDowell), all worked diligently to deliver a magical place on time and on budget. So many people helped make that possible with cash donations, in-kind donations, time and hard work. It is impressive to see how quickly and how well the community came together and produced an amazing and magical new addition to RCA. This new building allows RCA to double the number of teachers they can train as RCA continues their revolution in education and becomes even more sustainable going forward. The school and the Board listened intently to donor’s feedback throughout the initial growth of the school and during this recent major capital campaign. We have finished
many items of governance to help the school continue to mature as a non-profit and successfully exceed donor expectations. The Board and the school put contracts in place for all teachers at the school including the founders, passed strong financial policies, discussed and reviewed a succession plan, implemented a board reserve that is strong and growing, and recently passed an updated strategic plan that incorporates short and long term goals for RCA and its Board. The school consistently produces magic and now the additional governance infrastructure will ensure we keep producing magic for kids here and all around the world for a long time to come.
