A combination biography, memoir and love story, both in prose and in poetry. I was married to Vera for over 40 years. She has been my love, inspiration and muse since I began writing books more than 27 years ago. Never Ending Love: For Love of Vera is about the last 6 years that Vera was on Earth. I have been her care lover/giver for the past 13 years when she was first diagnosed with Alzheimer8217s, the first 7 years of which I have already described in a previous book. The more dependent on me that Vera became allowed me to grow into a better, more compassionate, caring human being. I began studying Buddhism and between Vera8217s adorableness and my becoming more present, our lives, although not easy, felt as a blessing. Although the topic of this book may seem heavy, the sentiments are refreshing and uplifting. The book describes how Vera8217s use of words and how her memory continued to decline, but how her appreciation, kindness, and joy continued ever more so. Vera was able to walk with me around our town and her health in general was otherwise not bad. About 2 years ago her ability to walk also declined, until she was put into a hospital bed by Home Hospice for the last six months of being alive. Although Vera was bedridden, these last 6 months were probably the happiest of my life, as I took joy with whatever presented itself. There is a whole chapter dedicated to sensuality, kissing, and pleasure, as Vera and I have been sensuality and relationship coaches since we met. The last section of Never Ending Love are over 50 love poems that I wrote to Vera over the last few years. Some of these poems, as the title expresses, are about loving someone and being with someone whose body may have disappeared, but the love and sharing remains.
