TO A SUCCESSFUL GROUNDBREAKING

Tips

Have a Guest List!

Invite your own guests. Include family members, close friends, staff members, and community members.

Spread the Word!

Let the chamber know if you would like this to be a public or private event. If you would like this to be public we will invite our chamber membership.

Provide Refreshments if needed!

This demonstrates the hospitality of your business. Remember, not everyone eats, but is always nice to have the option.

Get them to Come Back!

Hand out coupons, business cards, or flyers about an upcoming opening.

Provide Music/Entertainment!

Music can impact the mood of the event and make people feel more comfortable.

Decorate!

Decorations do not have to be over the top, but create a banner or utilize decorations to make your groundbreaking unique and memorable.

Make it Personal!

You will be asked to speak about your business before the Groundbreaking. Talking points include: how the business got started, your services, what makes your business unique, and introductions of your team. Tell us about the plans you have for the future.

If you would like, the Chamber will list your event on the Rome Floyd Chamber’s events calendar page on our website, creates Facebook event, Facebook post, Instagram post, and includes it in weekly newsletters leading up to the event.

Sends Groundbreaking information to our Ambassadors & Chamber Board of Directors.

Provides ceremonial shovels and agenda for the event.

Photos from the Groundbreaking will be shared with the newspaper (This does not guarantee it will make print).
