Strategy of Shymkent City envisions the upcoming sustainable development scenario of expansion of the third largest Kazakhstan city. Shymkent City is conceived as a new business center of the city, which will accumulate the entrepreneurial spirit of the South, host domestic and foreign corporations, provide mixed use, create centers of creative industries and raise environmental standards through urban planning. The new district will cover 420 hectares in the North rural part of the city. The strategy is multidisciplinary and consists of parts: quartiers, green landscape and biodiversity, transport, participation, development.
