What to do, if you had a truffle plantantation and you are also committed to sustain and transmit the cultural heritage of truffle?
Establish a truffle heritage centre!
In this study a destination concept development plan proposal and visitor’s journey was developed for Triflakert (Trufflegarden) black summer truffle plantation in the little rural village of Szentantalfa in the Balatonfelvidék (the Balaton Highlands), in Hungary. It deals with all aspects of interpretation, customer service, destination and operation management, stakeholder engagement and social media outreach of a Truffle Heritage Centre visitor attraction.
The study has been selected as a ‘best practice’ example to the Destination Experience and Attraction Management module for the postgraduate Cultural Heritage Management with Tourism class in the 2020/2021 term at the Heriot-Watt University.
It also became the foundation of an actual project and is being turned into a business plan; https://varostervezok.wordpress.com/triflakert/
