Our Aim: We want each of our boys to be respected as the boy he is. We want him to love learning in the way best suited to him, at the pace best suited to him.

We want him to be able to find happiness and success in all that he does and to be kind to others. Above all else, we aim to bring out the brilliant in each boy.

Joining Rokeby at Year 3 At Rokeby we pride ourselves on the way in which we educate and support all of our boys. We treat them as individuals: we focus on each and every boy. We want each boy to achieve his best in every area of learning so that they become smart, skilful and kind and leave us confident and positive, happy and successful.

It is important that we take in to account each boy’s potential and his ability to thrive and embrace all the opportunities that Rokeby has to offer him. There are many ways in which our boys achieve but they always do so when motivated and happy, with the right blend of support and challenge.

The assessments take place over two days in November. If you miss these dates there may be an opportunity to take the assessment at a later date.

Smart, Skilful and Kind

What to expect on the morning: The boys will take the assessments in our Lower School building with members of our Lower School staff. They should wear their current school uniform and bring a coat. They don’t need to bring any drinks, food or stationery. In addition, prior to the assessment Rokeby will seek a reference from your son’s current school.

The morning will consist of the following · Mathematics assessment · Creative Writing including teacher input and discussion · Non Verbal / Verbal Reasoning · Informal interview with the Head of Lower School and/or Head of Middle School · Drama / Music session: A fun, workshop style session with our Head of Drama and Director of Music We will provide a mid morning snack and drink for the boys and they will be observed during an outdoor play session.
