As an architect, I have spent the last decade of my career thinking about the ways in which we design and build the spaces that shape our daily lives. From the moment we wake up in the morning to the time we go to sleep at night, the built environment plays a crucial role in how we experience the world around us.

Looking back on my journey as an architect, I can’t help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment at the projects I have been fortunate enough to work on. From designing and building homes for families to creating public spaces that bring people together, I have had the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of others through my work.

At the same time, I have also come to realize the tremendous responsibility that comes with being an architect. The decisions we make as designers have the power to shape the world in which we live, and it is up to us to ensure that the spaces we create are not only beautiful, but also functional, sustainable, and accessible to all.

As I reflect on my career thus far, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunities I have had and the people I have had the privilege to work with. I am also reminded of the importance of continuing to learn and grow as an architect, so that I can continue to make a positive impact on the world through my work.

ARCH STUDIO 1

FERRY TERMINAL

Long Wharf, Boston, MA

32000 ft²

This design proposal for a new ferry terminal at Long Wharf would create a modern and efficient space for passengers to embark and disembark. The new facility would feature an open waiting area with ample seating, digital ticketing kiosks, secure baggage storage, and a public restroom. The terminal would also have an open boarding area with loading/unloading dock and a dedicated boarding bridge. Additionally, the terminal would provide access to a variety of transportation options, including public transit, taxi, and bluebike rentals. This proposal would provide a safe and comfortable environment for passengers while allowing them to easily and quickly access the ferry.

CONCEPT

An organic and free-flowing structure that appears to be in constant motion. This type of architecture utilizes curved surfaces, curved lines, and dynamic shapes to create a sense of movement and flow. It can be used to create a sense of harmony and unity between the form and its surroundings. This type of design has been used in a variety of projects, such as museums, public spaces, and residential buildings. A fluid form can be used to create a dynamic design that will stand out from its surroundings. This type of architecture can also be used to create a sense of dynamism.

COMMUNITY KITCHEN

...inspired by the efficient architecture of ant hills. The design features interconnected spaces and organic shapes, promoting community and collaboration. Sustainable materials and innovative ventilation systems create an environmentally friendly space. This architecture aims to foster strong community bonds, mirroring the cooperative nature of ants in their colonies.

During my architectural internship in Bangalore, I gained valuable insights into the complexities of architecture. I learned about the importance of building strong relationships with clients, the need to understand their needs, and the importance of delivering quality work. I had the opportunity to work with different professionals in the field, like engineers and contractors, and learned how to collaborate with them. I also gained knowledge of different construction materials and techniques to ensure the best results. Additionally, I learned how to properly plan a project, create detailed drawings, and present ideas to clients. Lastly, I was able to observe the entire process of construction, from planning to execution, and gain a better understanding of the different stages of a project.

HERITAGE DOCUMENTATION

GANGADARESHWARA TEMPLE

I have always been fascinated by the history and evolution of architecture. I have always been keen on learning about the different architectural styles and their influences on the modern day architecture. I have also been interested in the documentation of architectural heritage. I believe that it is important to document and preserve our architectural heritage for future generations.

The architectural heritage documentation which I did during my Bachelors in India was an immensely enriching experience. I was part of a team, I got to learn about the various aspects of Indian architecture and the various ways in which it has evolved over the years. I also got to study the various elements of Indian architecture and how they are used in the construction of traditional Indian buildings. The documentation process was very systematic and I was able to get a clear understanding of the various steps involved in it. I also got to learn about the various methods of documentation and the different ways in which they can be used to document architectural heritage.

The temple was built in the 16th century and is a beautiful example of traditional Indian architecture. It wasn’t popular tourist destination, so there was a lot of foot traffic while we were working. This made it difficult to get clear photos and measurements. We had to be very careful not to disturb any of the tourists or damage the temple in any way.

The project was challenging, but it was also immensely rewarding. I feel proud to mention that the project was awarded ‘Excellence in Documentation of Architecture Heritage’ by Council of Architecture. I learned a great deal about the architectural history of India, and I also had the opportunity to work with some of the most talented and passionate students from my university. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work on such a important project, and I am proud to have played a role in preserving the architectural heritage of India.
