Yes Deputy Commissioner of DOMHH Dr. Demetre Daskalakis is doing a fantastic job tackling the AIDS crisis, with new infections dropping consistently each year. 2017’s infections were down 5.4% from 2016, and down 64% from 2001. That said, there’s a clear need for expanded PEP and PreP access to improve those numbers and help us meet our ultimate goal, the eventual eradication of AIDS. I have a bill to ensure PEP and PreP are covered by all health insurers in NY. Do you support ensuring all individuals are able to access medically appropriate health care services, including reproductive health care, regardless of their gender identity? If no, please explain.
