INTRODUZIONE Questo ‘Diario Fotografico’ vuole essere un omaggio fotografico semi-serio ad una delle Città più belle del mondo, Firenze.

In occasione di un weekend con mia moglie mi sono ritrovato a visitare questa città, molto vicino a dove abito tra l’altro e che, per un motivo o per un altro, forse probabilmente per la vicinanza, non avevo mai preso in seria considerazione.

Un pò per snobismo, un po’ per pigrizia, sbagliando ovviamente, non avevo mai considerata una visita dedicata. Non era, tra l’altro, neanche la prima volta che passavo per la città.

Solo 30 anni prima ero stato sempre con mia moglie alla Galleria degli Uffizi. Eravamo poco più che adolescenti. Poi, ci sono state diverse occasioni di passare, anche con i figli piccoli ma sempre in modo affrettato o quasi per dovere.

Fino ad oggi, cioè fino a quando, in un momento di rilassatezza, si è deciso, complici anche degli amici che vi abitano, di andare con una convinzione diversa, o forse con una maturità e/o consapevolezza diversa in modo mirato ad osservare da vicino quanta bellezza sia concentrata in unico posto.

In poco tempo non si deve avere la pretesa di vedere con la dovuta attenzione tutto quello che offre la città quindi si sono scelti i posti più noti e importanti dei circuiti turistici anche per vederne le differenze e le emozioni che questi luoghi avevano suscitato su di noi a distanza di tempo.

Lo stesso albergo che ci ha ospitati, nel nome stesso “La locanda degli Artisti”, era ed è stato di per sè il giusto inizio di questa brevissima esperienza.

Quindi eccoci a camminare in un turbine inesauribile di opere d’arte, pinacoteche, capolavori inestimabili, luoghi storici, insomma, un vorticoso e inebriante giro della morte nel mezzo della più grande culla della cultura italiana nonché mondiale.

Devo dire che non mi aspettavo niente di meno di quello che ricordavo ma l’occhio era obbligatoriamente diverso.

Alcuni aspetti, le atmosfere, la gente, il vociare intenso della lingua inglese piuttosto che del toscano mi hanno piacevolmente avvolto e coinvolto in una visione originale, diversa sotto certi aspetti. Ho voluto vedere e quindi fotografare, per quanto possibile, attraverso gli occhi incantati dei nostri ospiti stranieri.

Ed ecco un po’ svelato il senso di questo piccolo lavoro che non deve essere un tradizionale e rigoroso testo fotografico ne tanto meno documentaristico dei monumenti o delle opere. Questa cosa la lasciamo alle numerose guide turistiche già esistenti.

Mi piace pensare piuttosto ad una serie di appunti in un taccuino fotografico.

Questa serie di fotografie ha un senso se interpretata in modo, come sopra accennato, semi-serio, ovvero nel fine di restituire situazioni, ambienti e personaggi che in tutto questo contesto onorano con la loro presenza, mi ripeto, una delle più belle città del mondo.

Non so se sono riuscito in questo intento, il tempo a disposizione era sicuramente minimo, ma non vuole questa essere una scusa. Le occasioni che si sono rivelate via via davanti all’obiettivo sono state tutte colte, e il mio piacere, e spero il vostro, nel rivedere certe situazioni credo siano meritevoli di condivisione.

Gabriele Rodriquez (Verona 1960) Vive a Verona, Italia. Sposato con 3 figli. Docente di materie aziendali fino al 1997. Esercita la professione di Dottore Commercialista dal 1990. Prestato alla fotografia, fin da giovane questa è diventata un’attività che via via si è rivelata più che una passione, più che un semplice hobby.

La fotografia ha riempito probabilmente un’area della sua vita culturale che gli studi seguiti hanno solo sfiorato.

Nel corso della sua attività ha conseguito 52 primi premi in vari contest nelle varie piattaforme specialistiche di cui 2 internazionali, varie mostre singole e collettive, relatore in varie occasioni divulgative di incontri con l’autore. Amante di reportage in genere e di viaggio nello specifico.

Gabriele Rodriquez (Verona 1960) He lives in Verona, Italy. Married with three children. Teacher of business subjects until 1997. He practices as a chartered accountant since 1990. On loan to photography from a young age this has become an activity that gradually proved more than a passion, more than just a hobby.

Photography has probably filled area of his life that cultural studies pursued have toed.

During his career he earned 52 awards in various contests in the various specialized platforms including 2 international awards, individual and collective exhibitions, speaker at various occasions of outreach meetings with authors. Lover of reportage in general and travel in particular.

INTRODUCTION This publication aims to be a semi-serious photographic tribute to one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Florence.

During a weekend with my wife, I found myself visiting this city, very close to where I live among others and that, for one reason or another, perhaps probably because of the proximity, I had never seriously considered.

A bit of snobbery, a little 'out of laziness, wrongly of course, I had never considered a dedicated visit. It was, among other things, not even the first time I passed through the city.

Only 30 years before I was always with my wife to the Uffizi Gallery. We were little more than teenagers. Then, there have been several occasions to pass, even with young children but always in haste, or almost out of duty.

Until today, that is, until, in a moment of relaxation, it was decided, accomplices also have friends who live there, to go with a different belief, or perhaps with a maturity and / or different awareness in a targeted manner to observe close how much beauty is concentrated in one place.

In no time you should not have the pretension to do with due care all that has to offer then you have chosen the best known and most important places of tourist circuits also to see the difference and emotions that these places had over us distance of time.

In the same name "The Inn of the Artists" same hotel that hosted us, it was and it was itself the right start of this brief experience.

So here we are walking into a never-ending whirlwind of art works, art galleries, priceless masterpieces, historic sites, in short, a swirling, heady loop the loop in the middle of the largest cradle of Italian culture and the world.

I must say that I did not expect anything less than I remembered but the eye was necessarily different.

Some aspects, the atmosphere, the people, the deep voices of English rather than the Tuscan have pleasantly enveloped me and involved in an original vision, different in some respects. I wanted to see and then take pictures as much as possible, through the enchanted eyes of our foreign guests.

And here's a little 'revealed the meaning of this little work that should not be a traditional and much less rigorous text photo documentary of monuments or works. This thing we leave it to the many existing tourist guides.

This series of photographs makes sense if interpreted, as mentioned above, semi-seriously, that in order to return situations, environments and characters in this context they honor with their presence, I repeat, one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

I do not know if they are successful in doing this, the time available was definitely a minimum, but does not want this to be an excuse. The opportunities that have proven gradually before the camera were all educated, and my pleasure, and I hope yours, in reviewing certain situations I think is worth sharing.
