The Lake Louise Visitor Centre is located at 201 Village Rd. National Parks Passes can be purchased here.

WEATHER

Lake Louise’s mountain setting brings cool mornings and crisp, fresh air, even in the summer. Sudden changes in weather are common, so it’s wise to dress in layers and keep a rain jacket handy.

PARK PASS

A National Park Pass is required when entering a national park in Canada. If you have booked a package with us, your parks pass may already be included in your travel documents.

ATTRACTIONS

Experience Lake Louise’s must-see tourist attractions. Review your final travel documents for tours and activities already included with your journey.

3 Horseback Riding – Travel by horseback on some of the area’s most popular trails to the famed Lake Agnes Tea House or the northwest edge of Lake Louise. 111 Lake Louise Dr.

4 Voyageur Canoe Experience – Paddle on the sparkling Lake Louise in authentic cedar canoes. A guide will share stories about the wildlife and the Indigenous peoples of the area. 111 Lake Louise Dr.

5 Lake Louise Gondola – Take in the views of Lake Louise from the sky with an open-air alpine gondola. One of the best places to safely see bears, moose, and other wildlife. The gondola can be accessed by car or a free shuttle from the Lake Louise village. 1 Whitehorn Rd.

EAT & DRINK

Lake Louise’s dining scene features alpine cuisine, cozy lodges, and cafés, serving locally inspired dishes in stunning surroundings.

6 Fairview Bar & Restaurant – Fairmont’s acclaimed fine dining venue serving contemporary, colourful, wild-inspired Rocky Mountain cuisine. ($$$$) 111 Lake Louise Dr.

7 Trailhead Café – Offering daily specials and fresh baking, enjoy a warm breakfast, hearty lunch, a cup of coffee, or grab food to pack with you for the day. ($) 101 Lake Louise Dr.

8 The Dining Room – Fine dining with a casual, elegant atmosphere, serving European-inspired cuisine and locally sourced ingredients. ($$$$) 200 Pipestone Rd.

9 The Station Restaurant – A warm, rustic dining experience located inside a restored heritage train station. Enjoy local ingredients in a historic setting.($$ – $$$ ) 200 Sentinel Rd.

10 Whitehorn Bistro – Savour locally inspired cuisine and refreshing beverages while soaking in the views atop Mount Whitehorn. Only accessible via the Lake Louise Summer Gondola. Tickets are required. ($$ – $$$) 1 Whitehorn Rd.

Due to high visitor numbers, we highly recommend making dinner reservations in advance of travel, with the exception of rail travel days as Rocky Mountaineer is occasionally subject to unforeseen delays, and arrival times cannot be guaranteed.

12 Lake Louise Lakeshore Trail – An accessible trail, leading you alongside Lake Louise through the forest to the western end of the lake. 111 Lake Louise Dr.

13 Fairview Lookout – Starting at the Fairmont boathouse, this short hike offers a unique view of Lake Louise and Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. 111 Lake Louise Dr.

15 Moraine Lake – One of the most popular locations in the area. Take in the iconic views from the lakeshore and the rockpile or explore the surrounding trails.

SHOPPING

For necessities, gifts, and souvenirs, visit Samson Mall in the village of Lake Louise. For more elevated purchases, the Fairmont Lake Louise contains several shops including jewellers, galleries, and clothing.

TRANSPORTATION

Explore Lake Louise and Banff National Park with easy access to free public transit and commercial shuttles.

Roam Public Transit – Roam Public Transit provides multiple bus routes throughout the Lake Louise and Banff area to popular locations including the town of Banff, Johnston Canyon, Banff Gondola, Lake Minnewanka, and more.

Shuttles – Some hotels in Lake Louise offer complimentary shuttles to/from the lakeshore and the village. Inquire with your hotel. Free shuttles are also available to the Lake Louise Gondola and Moraine Lake.

Travelling between the Lake Louise Village and Lakeshore –Driving and parking in Lake Louise is not recommended. Shuttles or public transit will enable you to travel between the Lake Louise village and the lakeshore.
