It gives all team member not just the opportunity to offer ideas and improvements but also gives everyone the opportunity to turn those ideas, etc. into realisation.

Loss Control Meetings

As a business we run a committee that involves itself in all type of loss. Moving on from the normal Health & Safety meetings, it now involves common areas that affect all employees. This includes cross-fertilised ideas in culture both current standing and required improvements, training requirements, sustainability, emergency actions, up and coming and needed training, and many more.

Not only does everyone have input, but everyone also has an actionable takeaway of which all are to be involved through teamwork or desired research and report back.

Morning Huddles

Every morning, it is up to a member of staff who is not a supervisor or above to roll out a group meeting to discuss ‘yesterday’ and the plan for today. During these huddles, a team member will go through a current toolbox talk about something that has caused an issue, or where it has been a while since it was done so needs refreshing. On occasion, this huddle will have management member involved so questions can be asked of them.

Housekeeping Management

Through a concept that is new to this business, all employees are trained in techniques such as 5S (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardise & Sustain). Most housekeeping rules are generally made around a ‘clean as you’ go ethos, but 5S is a system that helps reduce waste and optimise productivity through maintaining an orderly workplace to achieve more consistent operational results.
