CONNOLLY’S TO REOPEN FOR SUMMER!

The iconic bar and home of Rockaway’s most famous Frozen will reopen at noon on Friday, May 28. The Rockaway Times got the news from owner, Jeff Aquilante, who spends much of the year in Ireland. The much-loved bar made the news in October when the property and adjacent lots were listed for sale. So far, there have been no takers on the $6 million price tag. With no sale, there will be at least one more summer of fun. And the hope this summer, is to let patrons inside. Last summer, Connolly’s ran on a to-go operation due to Covid restrictions.

ADDABBO HONORED BY RED CROSS On Friday, March 26, the American Red Cross in New York State honored six elected officials — including State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. — as its 2021 State Legislators of the Year. According to the American Red Cross, Addabbo was recognized in part for his efforts to aid residents whose lives were deeply affected by Hurricane Sandy in late October 2012. As a member of the Senate Bipartisan Task Force on Hurricane Sandy, Addabbo helped his community recover and rebuild from the devastating storm. Additionally, Addabbo also distinguished himself from other legislators in New York by partnering with the Red Cross to personally deliver food and essential supplies as part of a critical mission in Queens dur-

ing the height of the COVID pandemic. The Red Cross further noted Addabbo’s efforts to prepare his constituents for the event of a disaster by co-hosting a series of virtual Citizen Preparedness Corps emergency preparedness presentations, and promoting the Red Cross Home Fire Safety campaign by encouraging them to sign up for free smoke alarm installations. “Helping people remain safe — especially during an emergency situation — is one of the cornerstones of my job as an elected official. I greatly appreciate the efforts Red Cross have undertaken in my district throughout the years. I look forward to continuing the great work that we do together,” Addabbo said.

'Planning Together' Leaves the People Out By Katie McFadden

A bill proposed by City Council Speaker Corey Johnson at the end of 2020 could change the future of development for the city. However, many are saying not in a good way. At Community Board 14’s recent Housing and Land Use Committee meeting, independent planning consultant Paul Graziano broke down the details of the plan that led committee members to unanimously oppose it. At the March 25 virtual meeting, Graziano explained that on December 16, 2020, Johnson introduced Intro 2186-2020 – a “comprehensive planning” proposal called “Planning Together” to city council. “He described it as bringing comprehensive planning to the City of New York for the very first time,” Graziano said. As a planner with many years of experience, Graziano says he’s “deeply concerned” about what it said. “It is not what I would think that comprehensive planning is, and when I re-

ally started to go through it, I was really concerned because the bill is not comprehensive planning at all.” Graziano went on to explain that the bill would create a brand new bureaucracy over the existing department of city planning and city planning commission, that would create a new land use process for the city “that would essentially create 10 year cycles of development in perpetuity,” he said. “The bill would basically force every community board in the city to absorb new development every decade and this would be based on targets and goals as set by this new bureaucracy, which is led by the director of long-term planning, as what we describe, a new Robert Moses-like figure, who would create targets for all kinds of things but really focusing heavily on population and housing. It’s overdevelopment.” The director would have the ability to project how many new residents would come to the city over a 10-year period and would

force each of the city’s 59 community boards to absorb a certain number of people so that it is equitable. “So in CB14, it’s expected there will be an additional 7,000 people that have to be absorbed over the next 10 years, so there would be the creation of three land use scenarios for each community board area and they would be created 1. From the community board. 2. From the borough president and 3. From these steering committees for long-term planning. Each entity would generate three land use scenarios per community board, and they would get forwarded to city council. They’d vote on each of those 59 proposals and would choose one of those three scenarios and if they couldn’t choose, the director would choose for them. Once this occurs, areas would be designated for future growth,” Graziano said. He explained that if a developer purchased property in that designated area, they would essentially bypass the standard ULURP process for rezoning since it

is already designated as a future growth area, and they would receive little pushback. “The city council member can only call it up voluntarily and the council member has to justify why this rezoning is not appropriate, but if their proposal aligns with the plan, a city council member would have a tough time arguing why it shouldn’t be allowed to go forward.” The plan would also require the city to create a generic Environmental Impact Statement for the long-term plan, which would further incentivize developers by reducing their costs to be redirected into community benefits. “It’s gonna reduce project costs for developers, not the city. The city will have to do all the work and the developers will have to do supplemental costs instead of full costs that they should be paying if they want a benefit of getting additional square footage built,” Graziano said. He says a part of the report says during the Bloomberg administration when rezonings occurred, “they only happened in white wealthy neighborhoods and low-income neighborhoods were ignored or upzoned. As author of half of the rezonings in Queens during Bloomberg years, this is a completely false narrative,” Graziano said. He claims that while working with HPD, the current deputy mayor for Housing and Economic Development, Vicki Been, falsified the housing data that is used in city planning and has led to overwhelming upzoning across the city during the de Blasio administration. “The Planning Together report uses that same data to justify this proposal which will take these constant upzonings and codify them into law and make them happen every decade in perpetuity all across the city,” Graziano said.

Graziano said the report hints at getting rid of single-family housing across New York City in the future. The report cites Minneapolis, which eliminated single family zoning from their plans last year, as a great example. But he explained that as a city that was 70% zoned for single family housing, Minneapolis was in a much different scenario than New York City, which is only 15% zoned for single family housing. “15% of our city is zoned single family and a vast majority, or two-thirds, is in northeast and southeast Queens. We have the most to lose in the entire city if this was to be a consideration,” he said. A city council hearing was held on February 23 to discuss the bill, which Graziano called “very unusual.” He said the first four hours were dominated by council members Johnson, Lander and Reynoso attacking the chair of the city planning commission, Marisa Lago. “These three council members, particularly the speaker, were incredibly rude, cut her off, told her she was a liar,” he said. He said the meet-

ing was frontloaded by people in favor of the plan and any dissent didn’t come until six hours in, and by that time, most of the city council left. However, Graziano says there has been heavy pushback against it. For reasons different than Graziano’s concerns, de Blasio himself has opposed it. Graziano has made it a point to visit community boards across the city to let them know about the plan since they have been left out of discussions about it, and he says every community board thus far has unanimously opposed the plan or has come very close to unanimously opposing it. “It’s snowballed because the legislation is so poorly written and while comprehensive planning is a good idea on its face, and it really is, this is not comprehensive planning, it’s a comprehensive housing and development program,” he said. Graziano said following the hearing, Johnson decided to put the bill on hold. “But a hold does not mean that it’s dead,” Graziano explained. He fears that city council will try to push

it through during the budget process. “The Speaker may try to strongarm people into supporting this in order for him not to take away hundreds of millions from their districts,” he said. He also suggested it could be snuck in right after a new mayor and new city council is elected in November. “I don’t think any of the community boards should be sitting down. I find it grossly insulting that the Speaker, who is supposed to represent the legislature, did not have the decency to contact the first level of government, closest to the people of New York, the community boards.” After hearing about the plan, the CB14 Housing and Land Use Committee expressed deep concerns and followed suit by making a motion to oppose the plan. The motion was supported unanimously and will be brought to the full community board at April’s meeting. In the meantime, Graziano urges all New Yorkers to sign a petition against this plan. Pup, pup, hooray! Rockaway has a new pet supply store! On Monday, March 29, Dawn May opened the doors to Rockaway Pet Supplies right in the heart of Rockaway Beach. Since Rockapup closed in 2017, pet owners have had to go to Far Rockaway, Five Towns, across the bridges or online to get some of their pet needs. However, Rockaway Pet Supplies, located at 9210 Rockaway Beach Boulevard, is now here to fill that void. With everything from dog, cat, bird and fish food that you can’t find at the supermarket to pet beds, bowls, carriers, Wee Wee Pads, toys, leashes, treats, rawhides and even pet needs for a beach day such as doggy life jackets and waterproof toys, Rockaway Pet Supplies may soon become a go-to for pet owners. Local resident Dawn May, who has been in the dog business for 35 years and has seven dogs herself, says she saw the need for a new pet supply store after Rockapup closed. “There’s an influx of puppies in the neighborhood, but no pet supplies. Of course, you can get regular pet food at Stop and Shop, and it isn’t terrible food, but we needed more,” she said. And May had the experience to pull it off. She previously had a pet store on West End Avenue in Manhattan Beach until the property owner sold the property. “After that, I said I’m gonna take a vacation. I took about 10 years off,” she joked. “But Rockaway needed it.” About a year and a half ago,

May started looking for locations all over the peninsula but couldn’t find the perfect spot. That was, until she laid eyes on the former home of Studio Phantasmagoria, which had been available for several months. In an area that has seen recent revitalization, it was perfect. “It’s different than 129th, it’s different than 116th, you can draw from either way. It’s right in the middle of the peninsula and it’s a good block,” she said. It also happened to be right down the block from local vet, Rockaway Beach Vet Services, though May says that wasn’t her motivation for acquiring the space, but rather a coincidence. May says her neighbors have been very welcoming since she took over the space in February. Aware that some pet owners have turned to online stores for their pet needs, May, who says even she sometimes uses online sources, isn’t too worried about that competition. “My prices are cheaper than Chewy. I’ve been doing this a

long time and I know the owners of the food companies and toy companies so the prices I’m charging are cheaper than online. For instance, I’m charging $19.99 for Wee Wee Pads that you might find for $35 in another store,” she said. And being one of few places to go right on the peninsula helps business. As far as services go, May says as someone who has been working with dogs for 35 years, she’s up for giving tips. “If you ask me about a puppy, I can tell you anything. I probably know more than most. I have friends that own major puppy stores that come to me for advice. If anyone has any questions about training, I’m not going to charge them,” she says. But as for grooming? “They can go to the veterinarian on the corner,” May says. If you’re looking for fish, birds or hamsters to bring home, Rockaway Pet Supplies won’t be the place to go, but May can help those interested in buying a new puppy or kitten. “I can get any breed of

puppy and kitten that people are looking for,” she said. Working in the business for so long, May says she knows reputable breeders that care for the quality and health of their animals and she has developed a good reputation with generations of families that seek out her help in finding a specific breed. “I’m known as the Puppy Boss,” she said. At the moment, May says she’s not sure if she’ll have puppies or kittens in the store directly. When The Rockaway Times interviewed May on Monday, we did have the opportunity to meet one adorable pup, an eight-month old trained German shepherd puppy that May is trying to resell for a family that says their other dogs didn’t mesh with. Not wanting to leave her in a crate all day at home, the puppy named Penny was in the store, charming all willing participants who came by for the opening, in hopes for a new home. As Rockaway Pet Supplies makes a home on the peninsula, May asks for patience as some items that have been on backorder will be coming, so she will have even more items in stock. If successful, May says her big goal is to expand. “I’d like to open up another store in Far Rockaway in about two years,” she says. Covid-19 Tracker 03/21 – 3/29 As parts of Rockaway have seen increases in Covid-19 cases, it’s important to keep track of how the neighborhood is doing with coronavirus. Robby Schwach of Councilman Eric Ulrich’s office has been hard at work, tracking down the details for each Rockaway zip code. We are sharing this info each week. The latest info represents changes between 03/21/202103/29/2021. In 11691, positive cases increased by 227 from 6,541 to 6,768. There were three new deaths in this period, bringing the total number of deaths to 432. Eleven percent or 5,093 people have been fully vaccinated. In 11692, cases went up by 72, from 1,559 to 1,631. There were two new deaths in this period, bringing the total to 100. Twelve percent or 1,796 people have been vaccinated.

In 11693, cases rose by 35 from 974 to 1,009. There was one new death, bringing the total remains at 37. Fifteen percent or 1,505 people have been fully vaccinated. In 11694, there was an increase in cases by 93, from 1,951 to 2,044. There were no new deaths in this period, and the total remains at 96. Twenty-six percent or 4,342 have been fully vaccinated. Spring Cleaning in Rockaway and Jamaica Bay Parks By Shanna Blanchard

Spring is finally here, and the Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy began the season with a great volunteer event filled with community and partnership! Working with NYC Parks and the local community, the Conservancy was thrilled to begin our spring stewardship season with local residents, community groups, and NYC Parks for a volunteer cleanup and native plant restoration project on Saturday, March 27. The project provided some much-needed TLC to parkland adjacent to the boardwalk and the Beach 30th Street Playground between Beach 26th Street and Marvin Street in Far Rockaway. Forty volunteers removed upwards of 500 pounds of trash and planted 400 native coastal perennials and shrubs, along with 6,000 native beach grasses. Volunteers planted native shrub species such as Beach plumb (Prunus maritima), Bayberry (Morella pensyl-

vanica), Rosa carolina (Carolina rose), and Eastern red cedar (Juniperus virginiana) as well as American beachgrass (Ammophila brevigulata) in the dune adjacent to the boardwalk. Collective stewardship efforts like these show the important role everyone can play

in making even small park spaces meaningful and vibrant. This latest stewardship project builds off of work the Conservancy led at the park with NYC Parks in spring 2020 when 10,000 additional beach grasses were planted, along with 300 native shrubs and perennials. Due to the impacts

of COVID-19, we were unable to engage volunteers at that time. Many thanks to Borough President Donovan Richards for supporting this special project and to the volunteers and parks staff that made it a reality. In the coming months, the Continued on page 14

SPRING CLEANING IN ROCKAWAY Continued from Page 12 Conservancy looks forward to watching the landscape come to life, providing four seasons of flowering plants, and will continue to work with the community and NYC Parks in caring for the area through volunteer stewardship. Throughout the year, the Conservancy works with NYC Parks to bring resources and stewardship efforts to parks across the Rockaway peninsula and Jamaica Bay. For this latest project, the Conservancy combined resources working with Rockaway Parks Administrator Eric Peterson to source native plants from citywide nurseries, including the Greenbelt Native Plant Center, and beach grasses were sourced from Jamaica Bay at a nursery at Floyd Bennett Field. By using native plants in restoration projects, the plants are more likely to thrive and will attract an array of pollinators and wildlife such as birds,

bees, and butterflies to the landscape. The areas restored this past weekend are fenced in to protect the plantings from foot traffic as they settle in the landscape and grow throughout the season. This project is one of many restoration projects the Conservancy has planned this spring and we hope you will join us! Cleanups are scheduled in April and May with the Surfrider Foundation – NYC Chapter at Dubos Point Wildlife Sanctuary and Rockaway Community Park re-

spectively, and a restoration project will take place at Jamaica Bay Park with the Natural Areas Conservancy in April. Parks across the city experienced record visitation and impact in 2020 and this continues through 2021. Increased visitation and stretched resources provide an opportunity to work together to care for our parks. 4 Local Ladies Recognized as ‘Women of Distinction’ By Katie McFadden

As we neared the end of Women’s History Month, Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato took the time to recognize some of the local women who have gone above and beyond for the community. At a virtual ceremony on Friday, March 26, Pheffer Amato paid tribute to this year’s “Women of Distinction.” Due to the peak of the coronavirus pandemic beginning around the same time last year, last year’s ceremony was canceled, but Pheffer Amato was not going to let it keep her from recognizing some special ladies who utilized their time during the pandemic to help others. In February, she put out a request for nominations and selected six worthy honorees. Among them are local ladies Jeanette Garramone, Elizabeth Hanna, Patricia Jones and Monika Wroblewski, plus Tiffanie Placeres of Ozone Park and Barbara McNamara and Maria Scaramuzzino of How-

ard Beach. In the days leading up to the ceremony, Pheffer Amato and her staff went to each woman’s home to give them an orchid and a certificate recognizing them as a “Woman of Distinction,” and on Friday, she announced the honorees at a virtual ceremony. The assemblywoman opened up the event saying, “Women of Distinction has become one of my favorite events because it brings attention to the unsung heroes of our community, our women who are always out there doing good work,” she said.

Many may know Jeanette Garramone as a Democratic District Leader, but she went above and beyond her position as a “Food Angel,” in which she dedicated her time to making sure Rockaway’s seniors, disabled and others who struggled due to food insecurity, received groceries and meals. Garramone said the effort started small. “It started simply with me finding out about a neighbor who needed food and looking at my countertop and seeing what food I could throw together.” This expanded into a mass grab and go and delivery effort that was made possible by some extra help. Garramone credited Jean Hammel and Maryann Neilen for making Food Angels possible. “Without them, I couldn’t keep it going. At one point we had a list of 200 people,” she said. Pheffer Amato commended her saying, “You have such compassion and empathy for the community, and I think you bring to the top what food

insecurity is and what we need to do to address it,” she said. There was no bigger cheerleader for small businesses during the pandemic than Liz Hanna. Hanna is continuing those efforts and has now added raffles into the mix to help further support businesses by buying gift cards. As the former owner of Brown’s Hardware, Hanna said as the pandemic began, she thought of the struggles businesses went through after Hurricane Sandy and how this latest challenge would be even harder. “I knew this would be worse than Sandy was because it was going to go on for a long time and I could feel their pain,” Hanna said. Hanna’s page has grown to about 4,000 local residents. She credited lessons learned from her parents and the women in her life that helped shape her ethics as inspiration. Patricia Jones, director of Raising Hope Daycare in Far Rockaway, provided hope to parents across the communi-

ty as she gave their kids a safe place to grow. Pheffer Amato was blown away by the praise from parents and children for “Ms. Pat.” Jones spoke more about her daycare saying, “During the Covid pandemic, I wanted to make sure our little ones had a safe, nurturing environment to develop and continue to flourish and a space

where parents could feel safe about going back to work. We served a lot of essential workers and nonessential workers and it was my privilege to care for their little ones so they could go back to work,” she said. She also expanded the program to add remote programs for children. Monika Wroblewski of Rockaway Park was recognized for her volunteer efforts as a 100th Precinct Auxiliary Police sergeant, Vice Principal of Rockaway’s Polish Supplemental School and making connections for the Polish community in Rockaway. “I am receiving this award for doing something I love, serving this community,” Wroblewski said. “I’m so blessed that as a citizen of this beautiful country and a woman, I can freely speak and teach the language of my homeland, Poland. I want to thank my mom, who is my first role model, and to all women who are here, we do it because we love it, but we also do it because we can. Congratulation to all honorees, I am honored and humbled.”

Wroblewski’s words left Pheffer Amato teary eyed as she explained that is what the even was all about—lifting up other women. “We have to be there for each other. We can’t cut each other up We have to support women and that’s what we have to continue to do,” Pheffer Amato said. “I’m so proud of my community that we have strong women like this that we’re able to honor and bring attention to.”

We all remember watching Gov. Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio in the early days of the COVID epidemic when they proposed temporary lockdowns to “flatten the curve.” They claimed to be “following the science.” Well, here we are, more than a year later, and we still have partial lockdowns. So, did they really follow scientific recommendations and did the lockdowns prevent COVID deaths? Growing research tells us that the answer is no. The lockdowns destroyed a booming economy, forced many small businesses to close, and put many people out of work and into a financial nightmare. Locking healthy people in their homes to prevent the spread of disease is unprecedented and has set a dangerous precedent for freedom and human rights. As Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, a professor of medicine at Stanford and a research associate at the National Bureau of Economics Research,

has put it, lockdowns were easily “the biggest public health mistake we’ve ever made.” In November 2020, an international group of researchers released a study in the journal Computer Methods and Programs in Biomedicine. It was based on a sophisticated mathematical model, which found staying at home, on its own, did not have a major role in reducing COVID-19 disease transmission. Also, in early March, researchers from Brazil published a study in Scientific Reports. They compared COVID death rates not only between states in Brazil, but worldwide. They concluded that “only 1.6 percent of the death rate could be explained by staying home.” In other words, in about 98% of comparisons, there was “no evidence that the number of deaths per million is reduced by staying home.” There are real world examples of this. Ireland reopened its pubs, restaurants, and barbershops on June 29, 2020, and masks were not mandatory. After more than two months, there was

no spike in death rates. In fact, the death rate kept falling. Also consider that Peru, which had the strictest lockdowns in the world, by last September had the highest number of deaths per million. Many researchers now believe that stay-at-home orders represent a case of “exception fallacy,” also known as stereotype fallacy, in which conclusions are made about an entire group based upon data or observations from one individual. Last October, Dr. Bhattacharya, along with Sunetra Gupta, a professor at Oxford University, and Martin Kulldorff, a professor of medicine at Harvard University, wrote the Great Barrington Declaration, which called attention to the devastating short- and long-term health effects being caused by lockdown policies. It called for a return to normalcy for those at low risk. The lockdown harms they identified included: worse cardiovascular disease outcomes; deteriorating mental health; a rise in opioid and drug-related overdoses; increases in demen-

tia-related deaths; catastrophic learning losses for students; and an increase in all-cause mortality among 25- to 44-year-olds. Since last October, thousands of public health scientists, medical practitioners, and researchers have endorsed the Declaration. Many note that public health is more than infection control; it’s intended to look out for the health and well-being of the entire population. As one expert put it, “There is more than a thousand-fold difference in COVID-19 mortality between the oldest and the youngest. Children have lower mortality from COVID-19 than from annual influenza. For people under the age of 70, the infection survival rate is 99.95 percent.” So, for the non-vulnerable, who face far greater harm from lockdown than from COVID-19 infection risk, the lockdowns should be lifted, and normality resumed. Man Stabbed at Broad Channel Train Station

Police are on the search for a woman who randomly stabbed a man on the A train at the Broad Channel train station. According the police, on Tuesday morning, March 30, at around 8:20 a.m., a woman, believed to be homeless, stabbed a 56-year-old man in the arm onboard the train. The suspect ran from the train and left the station, leading police on a search, but she is still on the loose. The wom-

Adapting to Change As we march forward towards spring, some proven treatments and more and more people receiving the vaccine, I am feeling relief and hope. Little by little hope is replacing fear. We know what happened, so lingering in the recent past with that fearful feeling will do us no good. It will eventually leave a harmful irreparable mark. Looking ahead at the uncertainty of the future can also implode in fear. Being here today, taking stock of the reality right here, looking at the bigger picture and real-

izing it is okay, is a healthy way of living right now. I’m finding this way these days to try and simplify everything and lighten the load on my shoulders and in my heart. they empathize with all who have been terribly affected. If we learned one thing, here it is: that it doesn’t matter what you do, how much you have, what gender you identify with, the color of your skin, the religion you practice, anything at all that could be different than anyone else, you could have been and could be affected in numerous ways. If that is not a unifying force, I don’t know what is. So, coming from a place of unity—we are all in this together—there will be changes that we will all have to embrace in order to move forward and be happy. It may take a while to get used to but accepting and releasing the anxiousness will make it easier to adapt. It took me quite a while to stop feeling angst when I traveled after 9/11. Frequent work trips became longer and more complicated. Among other things, I had to get to the airport way earlier than I had ever in my life. When I think back, if I had adopted the following mindset, I would have saved myself

a lot of disequilibrium and heartache. “When we resist, it's called suffering. But when we can completely let go and not struggle against it, when we can embrace the groundlessness of our situation and relax into its dynamic quality, that's called enlightenment.” (Pema Chodron). Enlightenment could be, in this human crisis, hope and security. We have to remember that whether we worry or not, the situation is the same—it is not going to change by our worry or lack of it. What will change is how we react and adapt to the changes that have resulted from this crisis. I am going to make a point of dropping into each moment in each and every day with gratitude, acceptance and openness, letting go of resisting what may have shifted during this past year. May you be happy. May you be free. May you be compassionate. May you be grateful. May you let go of things that do not serve you. May you have inner peace.

Covid Testing Update At Ulrich’s Office New York City Council Member Eric Ulrich’s office is making some changes to the schedule for their highly popular, free COVID-19 testing program. The Council Member’s Rockaway office had been offering self-swab tests on Mondays and Tuesdays. In April, however, testing will be available on Wednesdays and Fridays instead, with expanded hours. “The dynamic with regard to COVID testing has changed,” U l r i c h’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Rob S c hw a c h s a i d . “When we began offering testing last year, most of the people who w e r e coming in were front line workers who were concerned they had been exposed at work or seniors who were exposed to sick family members. WRESTLING COMPANY COLLABORATIONS By Eric Jayden

Results from the WWE SmackDown Show on March 26 from the WWE Thunderdome in Tropicana Field, St. Petersburg, Florida Seth Rollins defeated Shinsuke Nakamura. Apollo Crews, Chad Gable & Otis defeated Big E & The Street Profits. Bianca Belair defeated Natalya. Rey Mysterio defeated Dolph Ziggler. The Match of the Night was Seth Rollins vs Shinsuke Nakamura. Both competitors put on a classic wrestling match with great moves and storytelling. I really enjoyed this match as Shinsuke Nakamura is a great character along with Seth Rollins. Now, for many years wrestling has always been territorial with companies not working

with other companies. Major companies control certain regions of the United States and although there have been times where we have seen cross promotions like the WWE working with ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling) and New Japan Pro Wrestling working with Ring of Honor, in general wrestling companies tend to stay working within themselves. There are many benefits with cross-promoting between companies like matches between two wrestlers that would never happen otherwise and cross promotion feuds between rival wrestling factions, which would create more content for the wrestling fans, thereby increasing viewership. The most recent cross promotion has been between All Elite Wrestling (AEW), New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and IMPACT Wrestling, where we saw NJPW and Former WWE Super-

star KENTA appear on AEW TV along with stars from IMPACT Wrestling. This gave fans the opportunity to see wrestlers from different organizations all under one roof. It also provides all three companies an opportunity to gain more viewership from each other's fan bases and additional opportunity to create a working relationship that benefits the fans by providing more wrestling content long term. I do hope that this relationship continues as there is a number of matches I would love to see from the three promotions. The AEW Heavyweight Champion versus the NJPW Heavyweight Champion is one of those matches that is on top of my list. This week's question comes from the James boys in Rockaway Park and they asked, "Do you think the Fiend Bray Wyatt will beat Randy Orton in WrestleMania?" Well boys, I do be-

lieve The Fiend can beat Randy Orton and this is why. With Bray Wyatt returning back from the dead at the last WWE PPV Fastlane, you can only imagine how powerful The Fiend has become. What new powers and moves will The Fiend now possess and with his return, Randy Orton is facing a very, very angry Fiend who wants nothing but to put Randy Orton away for good and end his career.
