MECHANICAL DESIGN


CHASIS DESIGN: A base made up of metal is used. The metal sheet is marked and then cut into required shapes and machining operations are done.

CHASIS MECHANISM: Here we use rocker bogie mechanism is used which makes the vehicle to move steadily on all terrain regions. Shock absorbers will be employed between the platform and the wheel drive to provide stability MECHANISM USED: 1) TRAVERSING MECHANISM 2) LIFTING MECHANISM 3) GRASPING MECHANISM TRAVERSAL: Components used: 1) 3 sets of wheels 2) 4 dc geared motors of 150 RPM(HIGH torque) MECHANISMS: The bot consists of 6 wheels out of which 4 wheels are powered by dc motors separately.


LIFTING MECHANISM: COMPONENTS USED: 1) 2 dc geared motors The bot has an robotic arm through which the gripper can be lowered or raised depending on the condition. Here we use 2 dc geared motor for the movement of the arm. One motor is used for the horizontal movement and the other for vertical motion. For greater precision of the position of the gripper a chain mechanism is used to alter the position of the gripper .The chain shall run on a gear head for swift movement and to reduce the error while locating the objects Gear and chain mechanism:

GRASPING MECHANISM:


Following design is employed for grasping as it has better picking function and also gives no chances for the objects to fall down once been lifted(locking mechanism) Special features: 1. All the wheels are handmade and designed to suite all the terrains by providing better gripping facility on its surface. 2.The chassis designed provider better movement in rocky surface and other uneven terrains. 3.the shock absorbers used in between the platform and the chassis provide smooth carry of the load throughout the arena. 4.High torque motors provide better thrust. 5.chained mechanism for grippers provide better accuracy and faster control of gripper. 6.gripper employed with locking mechanism to ensure the objects being carried away safely. 7.the robotic arm has the provision to move in different directions thereby giving us better options for locating the object accurately.
