An Avoidable Tragedy
The cause? No one had inspected the ride to see a crack in the metal that had been painted over. The state only had six safety inspectors, and carnival rides were practically unregulated.

Steve Geller was there for Susie. He passed a bill to toughen the regulations, so amusement park rides are safe for children. It was too late for Christie, but it isn’t too late for other kids.
