Local traders are taking extra caution to ensure that it is business as usual despite being hit with water restrictions over the past week. Businesses and residential homes across north Dublin have endured nightly water restrictions since October 30, which are due to conclude this week. Owner of Malahide restaurant Bon Appetit Oliver Dunne admitted he had
been worried when he heard restrictions would be put in place, but made sure the team was “incredibly cautious” in conserving water for evening trade. According to Senator Darragh O’Brien (FF), this is not the first time homes and businesses have been hit with problems to their water supply. With water charges set to hit households, he said: “People have a right to expect a decent quality service.” Full Story on Page 3
Full steam ahead: New arrival aims to keep villagers shuttling along BOARDING Malahide’s new commuter shuttle bus on its first day of service are Vivienne Keavey of Malahide Credit Union and Mayor of Fingal Kieran Dennison (FG). The long-awaited shuttle bus will run on weekdays to and from Malahide railway station. It will service Seabury, Estuary Road, Swords Road, Millview Road, Yellow Walls Road, Dublin Road, Coast Road, Seapark, Biscayne and Robswall. The fare is €1.50 per trip. Picture: Gwen Kelly
