Body of man found in Liffey Bairbre Ni Bhraonain
The body of a man has been retrieved from the Liffey in Lucan this week. The discovery was made near the Hermitage golf course on Monday during a search of the area by gardai. The Gazette spoke to a senior Garda source in Lucan Garda Station, who said: “We have found a body alright but it hasn’t been identified yet. The body was discovered
at around 2pm yesterday [April 14] and it was down at around the 11th hole of the Hermitage Golf Club at the Liffey around there. It was discovered as there was a search being conducted. We have to identify the body now and that could take a while.” Cllr Guss O’Connell (Ind) said: “These are always tragic situations no matter whose body this happens to be, it is a tragedy for that person and their family.”
