The search to find Ireland’s best barbecue recipe began recently when the country’s first barbecue centre of excellence opened its doors at The Orchard, Celbridge. Television presenter Yvonne Connolly (pictured) performed the honours to open Ireland’s first Weber World Store. As part of the launch, Weber is searching for the best family barbecue recipes to be published in a brand-new e-cookbook, Weber’s Great Book of Barbecue, later this year. The winner will receive a top-of-the-range Weber Genesis E330 and also have their recipe included in the The Orchard Weber World Grill Academy menu from July. Submissions to the competition can be made via www.weber.com. Also pictured is Lily Hughes. Picture: Conor McCabe Photography

on fire shortly before midnight, an act which local councillor Danny O’Brien described as “appalling”. O’Brien is adamant that despite the latest act of vandalism, such play spaces should continue to be developed for the local
community. “It was really disheartening, but I would be a big fan of getting these play spaces rolled out,” he said. “It’s mindless vandalism. The park is used every day by kids. I wouldn’t be
in favour of having it taken out. “The council are doing their best to maintain them, but to see that happening, it’s disgraceful.”
