Residents reeling at new UCD digs proposal Mount Merrion locals fear that campus will ‘negatively impact’ their quality of life
EMMA NOLAN THE newly-unveiled UCD Strategic Campus Development Plan includes proposals for new student accommodation on campus which may “negatively impact”
some Mount Merrion residents. The plan includes accommodation on grounds close to Roebuck Castle and access to the building site through Foster’s Avenue in Mount Merrion.
A number of local residents said that they had not been made aware of these plans until they attended an information evening at UCD last week. The issues surrounding the new accommoda-
tion are mainly in relation to construction and some residents of Foster’s Avenue have said that they are not happy with plans for an entrance to new student accommodation to be located on their street.
