IT’S that time of year again – time for some tears and stress as children head off to ‘big school’ for the very first time. Still, even if some of the grown-ups were briefly upset by the experience, the children were all smiles as they went to national school for their first day – like Lily Callagy, Dara Collins, Tena Cacic and Filip Majewski, enjoying their day at Holy Angels National School, Sandyford! Vandals target Our Lady statue in dead of night EMMA NOLAN
SANDYFORD locals have spent the week coming to terms with an act of wanton vandalism in the village which saw a statue of Our Lady attacked in the dead of night, with the hands broken off. Echoing the shock expressed by Fr Andrew O’Sullivan, from St Mary’s, locals took to social media to slam the attack, with one furious poster branding the culprits as “sick scumbags”.
