Move to protect lodge is passed BAIRBRE NI BHRAONAIN
THE historic gate lodge at the entrance to the Daughters of Charity lands at Temple Hill is set for protected status, which will allay residents’ fears that it may be demolished to make way for a roundabout. During a draft county development plan meeting, councillors voted unanimously for Cllr Victor Boyhan’s (Ind) motion to grant the
lodge protected status as part of the Blackrock local area plan. On foot of a submission by St Vincent’s Park Residents’ Association, the Blackrock plan was further amended with building heights at Temple Hill and Dunardagh reduced to a maximum of four storeys. Denise O’Neill, of the association, said: “The council has taken on board the opinions of the residents.” Full Story on Page 3
What a cute dome-icile: Artists bring their message ‘home’ CAOIMHE Devlin joined her father,
Cllr Cormac Devlin (FF) to admire a piece by artist Jackie Ball, entitled For Sale, Owner Emigrating at an art exhibition at the LexIcon Library recently. The council’s “Home” open
submission art exhibition in the library’s municipal library space runs until March 22, and features a diverse range of works from 37 artists, all based on the artists’ intrepretation of “home” for their works. Picture: Peter Cavanagh
