Charity resume respite services Laura Webb
Respite services at St Vincent’s Centre are set to recommence after they were suspended following a crisis situation that has led to the redevelopment of facilities there. The centre, located on the Navan Road and run by the Daughter’s of Charity, was approached by the HSE to take individuals in need of full time care.
However, as the centre has no provision for emergency residential placements, facilitating the HSE’s request meant the service’s respite house was filled, leaving other families without access to it. Denis Cronin of St Vincent’s Centre has stated that they have worked with the HSE to resolve the problem by renovating its existing facilities via funding provided by the HSE. Full Story on Page 2
