Rise in bus fare causes concern  Laura Webb

Commuters living in Dublin 15 who work in the city centre will pay an average of €6 per day to get to and from work due to a price hike in Dublin Bus fares announced by the National Transport Authority (NTA). It is estimated that the cost for Dublin 15 commuters working in the city centre will climb to over

€120 a month when the increases are implemented over the next two months. The price increases were necessary “to protect transport service delivery,” according to the NTA. Cllr Matt Waine (SP) said price increases may deter people from using public transport in the future: “Do the maths, it’s more reliable and economical to take the car,” he said. Full Story on Page 6
