ACTRESS Barbara Windsor and Mitch Winehouse, father of the late singer, Amy, made a special cheque presentation of €25,000 to LauraLynn House recently. Philomena Dunne, chief executive, LauraLynn House, and Jane McKenna, mother of Laura and Lynn, the two girls after which the children’s hospice is named, were delighted to accept the funds, which were generously presented by Mitch from the Irish sales of Amy’s posthumouslyreleased final album. Sleep research firm set to create 50 jobs NexusUCD-based company unveils three-year plan

FIFTY jobs are set to be created by sleep research company, ResMed, based in NexusUCD, over the next three years. The company is a worldwide leader in sleep research and product solutions for disorders such as sleep apnoea.
It has grown since entering the Irish market in 2011, and is now expanding its operations. The benefits of ResMed’s location in NexusUCD mean that the company has easy access to a research base. Professor Peter Clinch, UCD’s vice-president in
charge of innovation, said: “Building relationships with industry is a key element of UCD’s innovation strategy.” ResMed chairman Dr Peter Farrell said: “We believe there are great opportunities in growing our presence in Ireland.” Full Story on Page 4
