A. PURPOSE
The Credit Transfer Policy provides a framework for the evaluation and granting of transfer credits.
B. SCOPE
This policy applies to domestic students enrolled in a provincially licensed program at Robertson. Global students are not eligible for credit transfer at the College.
C. DEFINITIONS
Term
Student A student is an individual who has applied for admission, is currently enrolled, or has previously been a student at Robertson College.
D. POLICY

Robertson recognizes that learners may acquire college-level credit prior to enrollment at the College which may be eligible for study at Robertson College Robertson has a formal credit transfer policy for when a student chooses to transfer credits from another academic institution
1. ASSESSMENT OF CREDITS
11 All credits will be considered on a case-by-case basis unless an articulation agreement exists around the transfer of credit.
1.2 Students may have previous credits evaluated through the submission of:
a. an Application for Credit Transfer
b. official transcripts.
1.3 Students may also be asked to provide other documentation to assist in the evaluation of previous credits, such as assessments and/or a course outline
14 Credit transfers are evaluated by the Student Review Committee and/or a member of the Academic team
15 Credit transfer submission requests cannot be appealed
2. CREDIT TRANSFER CRITERIA
21 For a course to be transferred it must;
a. Meet 80% of the learning outcomes in the Robertson College course which it is replacing, as evaluated by a member of the College’s Academic team and/or a college-designated subject-matter expert
b. Have been completed in the last five years for theory courses.
c. Have been completed in the last three years for lab, simulation, or clinical courses.
d The student must have achieved a minimum grade of 70% in the course for the course to be eligible for credit transfer
e Performance grades such as pass/fail are not eligible for credit transfer
f Transfer credits cannot be used for more than one course
g High school courses, with the exception of the Early Childhood Education program, are not eligible for credit transfer

h Only courses that were completed from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program in Canada are eligible for transfer credit into Robertson’s Pharmacy Technician program; Pharmacy Assistant courses from Robertson’s program and external Pharmacy Assistant programs do not qualify for transfer credit
2.2 Additional Transfer Credit Criteria:
a. Students need to meet the admissions requirements of Robertson College to challenge courses through the Credit Transfer process.
b. Students may challenge core courses with the exception of Career Preparation. Career Preparation isn't eligible for credit because it prepares students for employment.
c. There is a $50 fee for the assessment of transfer credits
3. RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT
31 Students must complete at least fifty percent of the total program hours required in a Program of study as a registered student of Robertson College; total program hours encompass practicum hours
3 2 Some Programs may have other residency restrictions related to accreditation, licensing, or credentials; the residency requirement of these bodies supersedes Robertson’s residency requirement as described in 3.1 above.
4. SUPPLEMENTAL POLICIES
4.1 Students are responsible for all associated course fees for courses which they receive.
4.2 The Credit Transfer decision is valid for six months. After this time, students will need to reapply for Credit Transfer If the program curriculum is revised during the time in which the Transfer credit decision is valid, a new Transfer Credit application is required
