Re_Hub proposes a transit oriented network of cultural institutions that connect to one-another at a regional or national scale. Each center proposed is a node in an infrastructural network. Re-Hub is the first of a future national development. Sunland Park offers a great opportunity to implement strategies for a transit oriented city, bringing compact mixed-used development within walking distances of high capacity transit system. Re-Hub is the backbone to this areas development by providing a central bus hub that will accommodate future development. The Nature Experience Center (Nature and Science museum) explores the local natural landscape, and provides a formal space for it as well as the small fossil formation and vegetation seen on the mountain. The Nature Center, along with the hub triggers future development for the emerging Sunland Park entertainment district. Design Process

San Diego currently faces a housing crisis, the city has worked with developers and planners to mitigate these conditions however gentrification has been a huge setback for communities to expand. In today’s rapid urbanization it’s important to repair our current living conditions. The challenge was to repair suburban sprawl strip malls and re-imagining with mixed use housing and development. Suburban remix proposes a housing project with a mix of units for a mix of incomes and diversity of people accommodated with amenities all within walking distances for safer walkable compact neighborhoods.

Communal housing for climate migration: Unpredictable and extreme climate uctuation has triggered a new phenomenon; global climate migration. Droughts and oods in highly populated areas are forcing large populations to relocate to more suitable, but perhaps unfamiliar, weather conditions. Housing this population will require designing for climate, and designing for change. The Design Studio focuses on questions of familiarity, unfamiliarity and transference within the domestic space.
