YOUTH COMMUNITY CENTRE
After the site survey (Project 2), my Main Design Project was to develop a youth community centre using a garage unit of the Vanbrugh Park Estate as the site My design intent was to create a purposeful community centre destined for the estate's recreation and intentional development
The ground floor houses the estate's caretaker's office, which offers views of both sides of the building while maintaining proximity to the community centre below. I retained the existing brick walls that characterise the site and incorporated double-height planted lightwells to bring daylight and cross-ventilation to the lower-ground level. An at-grade entrance provides step-free access; services are located on the lower ground to maintain clear circulation for residents at street level
I carefully studied precedents, including those of Josep Ferrando in Spain, Juliaan Lampens and Kersten Geers David Van Severen Office in Belgium, as well as Caruso St John Architects in London, to design a harmonious centre that added value to the existing site and strengthened the community

SITE SURVEY
/ VANBRUGH PARK ESTATE, london

SITE SURVEY
Since 1963, Chamberlin, Powell and Bon's Vanbrugh Park Estate has been a modern residential complex that embraces space, modernity, and community With a diverse range of dwellings located southeast of dynamic London, its residents and caretakers harvest a caring and warm environment worth preserving and investing in Through this survey, I spent time at the given site to fully understand its physical, material, and other less tangible characteristics at the beginning of the design process. The aim was to record and measure the immediate site and to study parts of the broader context of Greenwich and Blackheath
I produced plans, sections, and a 3D model representing the site, including differences in levels, vegetation, solar orientation, and textures Eloquent photography and analytical sketches were also produced to understand the site’s broader context and surroundings

PRECEDENT STUDY
A study of space, structure and envelope through Carla Juaçaba's House in Santa Teresa (2017) I analysed assembly and proportion and built a 1:20 model to test structural logic and light.
This project not only deepened my appreciation for architectural synthesis but also strengthened my research, analysis, and modelmaking skills It was a profound exercise in understanding how spaces communicate, tell stories, and become integral parts of their environments.

FIGURE FOLLY
An exploration of image making and orthographic drawing techniques as a generative, critical and creative process Understanding how a composition can be generated intuitively by using both analogue making processes and digital methods.
I embarked on an iterative and transformative process of investigation and creation, developing a mini-portfolio that captured the process and enabled me to describe my thought process and creative approach This strengthened my skills in site photography, Vectorworks and Photoshop

1:1 BUILD
I worked as a Project Manager in my studio group to design and assemble a bench at a scale of 1:1 using a modest quantity of timber, simple construction material, a tight budget, and time limits
As a team, our geometrical theme was the square, and we explored methods of assembly and the spatial potential of ordinary construction materials. The structure was demountable and prefabricated into hand-carriable elements

ESSAY
The module ‘Architecture Starts with Seeing’ offered a series of intriguing lectures on the world of multifaceted architectural analysis and interpretation. This experience culminated in crafting a 1500word essay on a topic that resonated with me during the course, allowing me to delve deeply into historical contexts and theoretical frameworks
My topic was the spatial innovations in the early 20th Century between Frank Lloyd Wright in America a lowing link: linktr.ee/rg
