Our Story
A little over 2 years ago, our family began a journey to find property with room for multiple generations of our family to build and live. Following in the footsteps of America’s early settlers, we began looking for a place where we could live more freely. A place where we could experience life more fully. A place to call home.
After months of searching, we settled on 122 acres in Ball Ground, a small town about an hour north of Atlanta, GA. After establishing the homesites needed for our family, we decided to sell a small tract and invite someone to join us on our journey.
We had no way of predicting what would follow!
Stampede! It seems that we had struck a vein of deep desire many others were experiencing. The pursuit of security, privacy, and greater independence had struck a chord with the many. We’d stumbled onto a grass roots movement - modern homesteading.
People are looking for more self-sufficiency, a slower pace and a return to a simpler way of living.
We had disclosed our background as Builders & Developers, and this proved to be a key ingredient. For five generations, my family has been building and developing in Atlanta. It provided a level of confidence and helped overcome fear of the unknown. Questions about permitting, construction, septic, construction and farming are real obstacles when considering a move to a rural tract of land. Our experience and knowledge in construction & development provided the reassurance needed.
Our Country was settled by individuals pursuing a better life. It was envisioned as a “City on a Hill” where faith and freedom were valued. A new “Pilgrim” movement and migration trend has already begun. Post Covid, a new world has emerged. How we work and live is experiencing a pivotal change. Faith, family, and freedom have taken on a renewed importance as people reconsider what truly matters.
Welcome to Sanctuaire Farms. We hope you’ll join us on our journey!

CLAIM YOUR HOMESTEAD!
Our forefathers arrived in America with great hope, expectations and faith. These “pilgrims” arrived in an largely unknown and hostile land. John Winthrop, one of the first pioneers, arrived off the shores of the new land with a vision of what “could be”. At the center of his vision was the creation of a strong , faith centered Community. And that a people brought together in Community would ensure safety, security and prosperity.
Post Covid, a rural migration trend has gained momentum as many are searching for their “city on a hill”; a place to call home. Sanctuaire Farms is built on the cornerstone of Community and offers the needed support, resources and guidance for those seeking to establish a family farm.

THE GRANGE
Our Community Farm
As America entered into the 20th century, many Americans moved away from our agrarian roots and settled into mostly suburban and urban areas. With this cultural shift, we lost many of the essential skills and knowledge that had been passed down through the generations.
The Grange is where we gather to learn, share and grow. It’s our farming co-op and educational center that provides the opportunity to regain the skills needed to live with greater independence. It provides opportunity for residents that don’t want to maintain a working farm to participate and enjoy the fruit of their labors on a smaller, part time scale.
• Community Center– The perfect place to gather with friends and neighbors
• Events– Farm to table dinners, cook outs, harvest celebrations and more
• Community gardens & green house with available private plots
• Beef, pork, poultry & dairy co-op– Enjoy farm fresh products sourced right on the property
• Equipment rental program- Helps to keep the capital costs down when establishing your homestead
• Education & training program– On-line and in-person education and training
• Home schooling support– Enjoy the use of the facilities and network with other families
