What rational, right-thinking person would not only conceive of a book like this, but spend valuable time and mind space carefully and clandestinely (if not always artfully) taking photos of more than 100 urinals in airports, pubs, ballparks, actual parks, gyms, and office buildings … and then publish them?
But here we are.
With roots in ninth century Sri Lanka and popularized in America during its Industrial Revolution, urinals have graced private and public restrooms for millennia, inspiring varying degrees of disgust, design innovation, wonder, and wet footwear.
Now (finally!) there’s a photo-illustrated book about these strange and wonderful (mostly) and porcelain creatures that demystifies the urinal and sets the record straight about splash factors and shy bladders—the two most common urinal-induced ailments.
