Editors Harriet Edquist and Sarah Teasley have brought together an issue exploring the significance of design archives – and the process of design archiving – in general, and of the RMIT Design Archives in particular. The contributors to this issue “showcase the value of design – social cultural, emotional, environmental – as artefact from the past and as a future-facing practice.”
From 'Design in Quarantine' to 'Using an Archive to provoke the future', the authors Rory Hyde, Melinda Mockridge, Livia Rezenda, Helen Stuckey, Anna Talley and Fleur Elkerton demonstrate that design archives are both revelatory and generative.
