of the Ozarks.

The mission of RMHC of the Ozarks is to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and well being of children and families right here in the Ozarks. We dedicate our efforts and resources to two core programs. First, Springfield’s two Ronald McDonald Houses have welcomed over 13,700 families of seriously ill and injured children hospitalized in Springfield over the past 30 years. The Tooth Truck (our Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®) provides dental treatment and prevention education for at risk children with no access to dental care. We’ve completed the treatment plans of more than 25,500 kids since 2002 and started an on-site daily tooth-brushing program called the Healthy Smiles Academy, impacting 10,000 children.

The traditional Tuscan home of Dean & Mary Young was established in the Highland Springs development in 2007. Originally built by Rob Montileone, the Youngs made it their home in 2016 and enlisted the expertise of Kimberlee Designs to incorporate their existing interior décor selections into their new space. Together, they worked on staging their magnificent 13,900 square foot home and incorporated new design elements into the established Tuscan components of textured walls, arched walkways and warm tones. This stunning residence features an open floor plan, custom doors, heated floors, a wine cellar and gourmet kitchen. Custom draperies and furnishings create a unique style that incorporates family heirlooms and treasures from their travels abroad. Expansive windows invite you to the couple’s back property which features multiple sitting areas, an outdoor kitchen, fireplace, and a garden with a unique planting system established by their son having a love for horticulture. The layout on the main level of this spectacular home is perfect for entertaining and this quality extends to the recreation area and home theatre located on the lower level. In addition to a sauna and home gym, this lower level also features a large crafting room and spaces designated for wrapping Christmas gifts and housing their extensive holiday décor. Kimberlee will join Mary in creating a beautiful holiday atmosphere for our 24th Annual Cup O’Cheer Homes Tour. Interior and Holiday Décor by Kimberlee Stockwell-Braasch, Kimberlee Designs

Built in 2009, the magnificent Old World Mediterranean-style home of Gino and Dana Barbo is nestled in a beautiful, wooded area of Southeast Springfield. This incredible 11,000 square foot home was designed and decorated by Gino and Dana and built by Dave Cunningham. The home’s interior features reclaimed brick, beams created from primitive wood and a plethora of unique finds from their travels including pieces from the Berlin Wall, Buckingham Palace and the Colosseum in Rome. Limestone columns supporting their outdoor living area and master bath were originally from the Greene-County Courthouse. Breathtaking expansive artwork by Australian photographer Peter Lik, along with striking black and white family photographs, are featured throughout this amazing home. Their two-story library features a spiral staircase and a large collection of children’s books. Mrs. Barbo’s studio is stunning and houses her collection of vintage Christmas figurines, which she designs into dioramas to give away to special friends. The piano room displays four digeridoos, similar to the wooden drone pipe designed by the indigenous people of northern Australia. Exterior lights in the circle drive have been repurposed from the Morton’s Salt building in Chicago and their spacious outdoor living area overlooks their back property and adjoining wooded area. Tyler Baxley and Jessica Janeway will join Dana in creating a festive holiday atmosphere for this year’s Cup O’Cheer.

The modern industrial style home of a Ronald McDonald House Supporter is located in the southwest Springfield development of Lion’s Gate. Built in 2017 by Ryan Green of First Choice Custom Homes, this stunning 9,000 square foot home’s exterior was constructed using brick and Hardie smooth panel board accentuating an exotic wood focal wall and custom glass garage doors. The floors and accent walls throughout the home were fashioned using reclaimed barn wood and a custom barn door hangs as the office closure. Largely inspired by Restoration Hardware design components, the recessed fixtures and furnishings carry a heavy industrial-style influence including pulley-system light fixtures, concrete counters and sinks and exposed ceilings in the lower level theatre and gathering rooms. One of the most unique highlights of this home is the two-story basketball court featuring a slide and home gym. The family is now consulting with Nathan Taylor of Obelisk Home to enhance their interior décor selections and re-stage the gathering area overlooking the gym. After last year’s Cup O’Cheer Homes Tour, they contracted with Nathan to create the perfect holiday atmosphere to complement this incredible home, including a dramatic 13-foot Christmas tree in the family room and custom trees throughout each bedroom and the gathering area; and they look forward to sharing it with you this holiday season. The Tuscan eclectic home of Jim & Missy Earls is located on the 14th green of the Millwood Golf Course. Built in 2006 by Sam Clifton, the home’s traditional Tuscan exterior is accented by custom ornamental railings featuring pineapples, the symbol of hospitality, as an introduction to the tropical accents carried throughout the home’s interior. With tones of cream, camel and deep reds, the textured walls embrace the Tuscan design while the interior décor selections, family heirlooms and treasured art pieces culminate to create the Earl’s current eclectic style and tell their family story. Three artist-enhanced giclees by Austrian painter, Bob Pejman, further establish the strong Tuscan theme of the home while an adored painting of their former Berryville home by local pastel artist, Becky Galubski, captures cherished memories from their past. In addition to the Earl’s kitchen table, accent pieces in the living room and office are fashioned from the reclaimed wood of Theodore Alexander’s “Castle Bromwich” collection. The upper level landing features Captain Jack’s Bar, named in memory of a very dear friend of Jim’s, as well as the perfect “Man Cave” housing the Earl’s extensive St. Louis Cardinals and Arkansas Razorbacks memorabilia collections. Missy’s Precious Moments collection from her Granny and two porcelain lamps and a porcelain clock once belonging to Jim’s Grandmother Earls are among their most beloved possessions. A dear family friend will join Missy in decorating this incredible home for the holidays in traditional colors of reds and greens.

Henry T. Ford, the president of the Ford Electric Company, located in Springfield, originally built the historic craftsman-style home of Tom & Kim Prater in 1921 in Hawthorn Place, which is now known as the Rountree Neighborhood. Among the local community, the home is referred to as the Yancey Home as Dr. Daniel and Thelma Yancey owned the home for over fifty years prior to selling it to Tom & Kim. The Praters purchased the property in 2004 with plans for a complete renovation and after deconstruction, the remodel took a year under the supervision of Angie Blevins of BP Builders. The couple preserved the home’s exterior and re-purposed the original brick as the face of the expansion of a new dining and great room accentuating an open floor plan. After the work was completed, the Prater’s home was recognized by 417 Magazine as the “Renovation of the Year”. A hot tub, pool and residential lap pool was later added to the couple’s back property. Originally a five bedroom home, Tom and Kim converted two bedrooms into a beautiful master suite. Their design style is largely influenced by their extensive contemporary ceramic art collection and antique maps from their travels abroad. At Christmastime, a special tree holds a collection of Baccarat Christmas ornaments Tom presented to their two daughters each year; and a Santa Village given to the girls by their grandmother will also be on display. Nathan Taylor from Obelisk Home is currently consulting with the Praters on interior décor selections and will join them in decorating for the holidays for this year’s Cup O’Cheer.
