To Our Amazing Supporters,
Thanks to your support in 2022, we accomplished some incredible things and made a significant impact on the families we served. While continuing the mission and programming we started in 1984, we also reached new milestones and created new opportunities to better serve our guest families.
Our 2022 highlights include:
• We served more families than ever before in our 38-year history.
• We provided more support and resources for these families than in any previous year. This includes more offerings from our Ronald McDonald House staff and volunteers, as well as via community partnerships with the Louisville Zoo, Boys & Girls Haven, and others.

• We improved food offerings for our families by hiring our first staff chef, James Garst. Thanks to Chef James for providing a great variety of nutritious food and for working with our volunteers on a terrific chef-led meal prep experience.
• We created new volunteer opportunities that fit RMHCK’s emerging needs, as well as our volunteers’ busy schedules.
Also, in 2022, we faced significant across-the-board cost increases, due to the highest inflation in our country in decades. Because of our amazing supporters, we were able to continue and grow our mission despite these headwinds. We are thankful for all our donors, volunteers, and everyone else who helped make 2022 a year of milestones.
With our gratitude,

Where Hope Heals
My spunky and loveable four-year-old son, Henry, was born with a high-cervical spinal cord injury, making it challenging for him to walk. Determined to find a therapy program that would give Henry strength and help him walk, we embarked on a trip from our home in Bozeman, Montana, to Louisville, Kentucky, to start therapy at Frazier Rehab Institute.
Before we made the 1,600 mile trip, the hospital told us about Ronald McDonald House. We were welcomed with open arms, and for six months, RMHCK was such a comfort for us.
Hospitals are kind of scary places for a four-year-old, even though it’s helping to heal him. To be able to come back to a happy place like RMHCK with happy people every night is extremely encouraging.
The nightly meal program had a really big impact on us. I was a better caretaker because I knew every night there was a home-cooked meal waiting. They always made sure there was something the kids would like, too, which made things a lot easier for us. We were well looked after.
The staff became like family to us during our six months there. Henry loved the consistency of going home to the Ronald McDonald House after being in a hospital for a few hours every day.

Ronald McDonald House was our home away from home.
Being a family with a child who has critical medical needs, you’re often in a vulnerable place. The staff and volunteers at Ronald McDonald House Charites of Kentuckiana saw that, and they helped us. It was such a meaningful experience for us.
A huge component of our time in Kentucky was the Ronald McDonald House; that was where a lot of the healing took place Being there really helped me be the best parent for my son in his therapy program.
