Page 7 — Types 298T-81 & 296-81 A. When converting a K to a KR body, on sizes 1 inch through 3 inch, the same valve stem can be used. B. On sizes 4 inch through 8 inch, a longer valve stem is required. Request this from the factory, specifying reverse acting and furnishing the serial number of the valve body. 5. Reassemble the KR valve plug as shown in Figure 9. 6. The AR valve plug will come from the factory properly assembled. 7. Insert the valve plug stem first (either AR or KR ) into the bottom body opening. A. On the AR construction, replace bottom flange and gasket, distance piece and gasket, and the actuator. Make up pilot and control line
connections and the regulator is ready to go into service. B. On the Design KR the distance between the seats must be adjusted. With the top plug seated, turn the lower skirt in until it seats. Then tighten the locknut holding the skirt. Now replace bottom and side flanges and gaskets, and reassemble the distance piece and actuator. When the pilot connections and control lines are made, the unit is ready to go into operation.
