f you’ve dreamed of buying a fully decked-out, beautifully furnished model home in a new-home community, November may be one of the best months in years to fulfill that goal. A model home typically becomes available for sale when a community’s lots are sold out — generally about four or five months before construction of the last new home in the community is completed, explained Dennis Webb, vice president of operations for Fulton Homes. Though the timetable for availability can vary widely depending on how quickly all of the lots are sold, most model homes become available for sale anywhere from a year to six years after they’re built and opened in a new-home community. Buyers may have the option of buying the home with or without furniture. “Another
