The Immaculata experience begins with your first visit to our picturesque and historic campus. Sitting atop a hill in scenic Chester County about 20 miles from Philadelphia, the history of the land our campus rests on dates back to the Revolutionary War and the fabled Battle of the Clouds. Occupying nearly 400 acres, our campus is expansive enough to enjoy open spaces yet small enough to contribute to the family-like atmosphere that permeates the University.

Immaculata University is, however, much more than magnificent stone buildings and beautiful rolling acres. Our faculty are here to teach and teaching is their primary focus. Our student to faculty ratio is 9:1 and most classes have 30 or fewer students. In order to support the exceptional experience in the classroom, Immaculata has made a significant investment in technology to further prepare our graduates to take a meaningful place in society upon graduation.

Ask anyone and they will say what sets Immaculata apart from other colleges are the people here. Every member of the Immaculata University community considers it part of his or her job to see that our students are supported to achieve success. We have established a Pathways to Success Program integrating academic advising, career development, and student support services. Every student will receive a personalized Pathway Plan to help them navigate through the college experience and position them for career success.

Immaculata’s campus life is vibrant.

Whether your student commutes to school or resides in one of our residence halls on campus, there is always something going on. Students participate in 19 Division III athletic teams or are actively involved in intramural sports, theatrical productions, or community service. Whether they write for the school newspaper, sing or play an instrument in one of our many musical groups, or travel with their classmates around the country building houses for displaced families, your student will find there is always something to do at IU. CHARACTER: A private, Catholic, comprehensive, co-educational University that offers associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees.

Size: 1,130 traditional undergraduate students, more than 1,000 adult undergraduate students and more than 1,100 graduate and doctoral students.

Location: 375 acres on a rolling hill overlooking historic Chester County, Pennsylvania, located on the Main Line about 20 miles west of Philadelphia. Our address is 1145 King Road, Immaculata, PA 19345.

Student/Faculty Ratio: 9:1 Personalized academic attention is a hallmark of Immaculata’s programs.

Class Size: Nearly 95 percent of classes have fewer than 30 students.

Access: The campus has an advanced technology network that features wireless Internet connections in classrooms as well as outstanding on-site and remote access to the resources of the Gabriele Library.

Residence halls are equipped with high speed Internet access.

Programs: More than 60 majors, minors, and pre-professional certifications, including career-oriented programs offered nowhere else in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Athletics: Immaculata’s Mighty Macs compete in Division III of the NCAA and the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC). We offer 19 men’s and women’s collegiate sports.

The University also sponsors several intramural clubs.

Tuition and Financial Aid: Generous merit scholarships and need-based aid are available for students who qualify. We encourage all applicants to file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to see what financial options are available. The cost of tuition for 2015–2016 is $33,280 with room and board at $13,210.

Internships: All academic departments offer internship opportunities at leading businesses and organizations in the Philadelphia region either as requirements or for elective credits.

Honors: The Honors Program is a 21-credit, three-level curriculum, providing rigor and intellectual excitement for our most talented students.

Also, there are 19 national honor societies represented on campus.

Alumni: An active group of 14,000-plus alumni provides enthusiastic support and a wealth of vital opportunities to Immaculata University.

A vibrant and robust campus life experience is offered at Immaculata.

Students are involved in creating their university experience by becoming affiliated with one of our 60 clubs or organizations, an athletic team, through campus ministry and a variety of other campus leadership opportunities. The out-of-class experience is important and students are encouraged to get involved, 80 percent of all first year Immaculata University students live in campus housing.

Kristen Kreiner Hometown: Baltimore, Maryland Major: Music Therapy Graduation Year: 2016 Activities: Cue and Curtain Players, In Unison-Secretary, Music Therapy Club, New Student Orientation, Student Ambassador Favorite IU Moment: Carol Night and signing with the chorale in this timeless tradition. Another favorite memory was attending the Search VII retreat where I was able to get to know the school community better, make new friends, and strengthen old friendships.

Presidential Scholarship

IU Grant

This scholarship is awarded to a select number of students with a record of academic excellence. Students are evaluated on the basis of GPA, class rigor, standardized test scores, class rank (if applicable) and recommendations.

All students who meet the criteria for the Presidential Scholarship will be interviewed by the Scholarship Committee.

This grant is offered to students after application review and acceptance to the University. Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA for the scholarship to be renewed each year. Open to freshmen, transfers and international students.

Students must maintain a 3.25 GPA for the scholarship to be renewed each year. Five scholarships are awarded annually. Firsttime freshmen applicants only. Amount of Full-time undergraduate annual tuition.

Deadline: January 15.

Draper Walsh Scholarship Established in 1996 by Mrs. Mimi Draper Walsh ’63; $7,500 award given to a traditional student who has given service to her church, school, and or community and who gives promise of continuing that service in her university years.

Deadline: March 1.

Catholic High School Grant Grants are awarded to freshman students who have graduated from a Catholic High School. Amount $1,000 per year.

Family Grant This award will be granted to family members who are enrolled in Immaculata University at the same time for the duration of the time that they are enrolled simultaneously. The amount granted to each student will be a 10% reduction in tuition.

Legacy Grant This award will be granted to children of Immaculata alums. The amount granted to each student will be a 10 percent reduction in tuition.

Dean’s Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to students on the basis of GPA, class rigor, standardized test scores, class rank (if applicable) and recommendations. Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA for the scholarship to be renewed each year. Open to freshmen, transfers and international students.

Amount range $12,000 to $16,000.

Affordability An undergraduate education at Immaculata University is surprisingly affordable. Ninety percent of Immaculata’s full-time undergraduates receive some form of financial aid, and the average annual aid package (grants, loans, merit scholarships, and work-study) is about $29,000.

Tuition and Fees 2015–2016 Immaculata University offers a comprehensive tuition rate based on admit year for full-time students in the College of Undergraduate Studies. Full-time students taking more than 18 credits in a term will be charged the current per credit rate for each additional credit in excess of 18 credits. Music lessons are billed separately. The cost of tuition for 2015–2016 is $33,280 with room and board at $13,210.

Faculty Grant This scholarship is awarded to students after review by the Scholarship Committee. GPA, test scores, class rank and recommendations are used as the basis for review.

Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA for the scholarship to be renewed each year. Open to freshmen, transfers and international students. Amount range $7,000 to $11,500.

The IU Pathways to Success Program integrates academic advising, career development, and student support services.

Advisors and counselors offer ‘roadside assistance’ at every step of the college journey. Students receive a personalized Pathway Plan that serves as a GPS for a college experience that positions them perfectly for career success.

Along with customized support services to promote academic success, the Pathway Program will provide every IU student a personalized major map to guide them through their four years.

Other opportunities include: research and experiential opportunities related to the student’s career of interest, proactive advising, academically enriching co-curricular activities outside the classroom, and a career service network in networking, resume writing, job search, interviewing, and creation of an e-portfolio.

The Department of Music cordially invites Immaculata University students to develop their musicianship and artistic performance skills by joining any of our large or small choral and or instrumental ensembles.

The Department of Music, in conjunction with Student Activities offers non-music majors and music majors alike the opportunity to participate in a variety of large and small ensembles. Ensembles organized by Student Activities include Chorale, Gospel Choir, Immaculata Symphony, and Immaculata Wind Symphony. In all, including both large and small ensembles, there are sixteen ensembles that give both the student musician and student enthusiast the opportunity to know both the mutuality and individuality of the musical experience. Large ensembles include: the Immaculata Chorale, Immaculata Symphony, and the Immaculata Wind Symphony (Concert Band).

Immaculata University

A student athlete is expected to commit their best effort to academics first and then to their sport, to join other university activities, to fulfill responsibilities such as work or study, and in general, to enjoy a full collegiate experience. The specific aim of Immaculata athletics is to provide a quality competitive experience in an atmosphere of commitment, success and teamwork.
