ENGINE ROOM INSPECTIONS

Visually check all engine seawater strainers for dirt and debris accumulation
Check bilges for any visible leaks ( Oil, Fuel or Saltwater
Check fuel, water, coolant and oil levels
Inspect hoses, seals and clamps for deterioration
Clean bilges with detergent and fresh water. Check all pressure, volts and temperature dashboard gauges when motors are running. pn

CHECKS BEFORE A TRIP

• Inspect fuel filters for foreign debris.

• Check sea strainers for blockage (visual)

• Ensure engine, drives and genset services are up todate

• Test operation of ball valves

• Check manual bilge pump operation/ Check float switch operation

• Check water level and plumbing. Test all taps.

• Check anchor and chain for visible signs of damage or decay and test anchor winch

• Test all lights and ensure that Navigation lights are clean and operational

• Check holding tank

• Check operation of genset

• Test horn

• Check if anchor is secure

• Check ropes and fenders

• Check all appliances are working

• Check tender for inflation and engine start

• Check tender is correctly secured

FUELLING

• Shut generator to fuelling

• Ensure are not on

• Turn off electronics

• Fuel

• Do not smoke

• Note how much fuel is required and monitor the pump to avoid overflow

GENERAL SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS

• Service motors, generator and drives annually • Antifoul, Propspeed annually. Replace Anodes if required. • Periodic service for Cooling Systems i.e 5 years ( *note some manufactures have different requirements ) • Shaft Seals • Watermaker • Gyro • Pod Seals • Tender and Out boards • Waste Systems • Note Please refer to individual manufacturers for specific details for all of the above . pn
