Halite bath panels Why Halite rather than wood or acrylic? Unlike wooden bathroom products, Halite is 100% water resistant. When a wood based material like MDF is used, the surface is painted but over time the paint has a tendency to crack. Without its protective covering the MDF core quickly absorbs moisture causing swelling and softening. Halite is much lighter in weight than MDF. Halite also has good fire retardant properties and being free from formaldehyde it is also more environmentally friendly than MDF. Acrylic products, although light, are considerably less durable than Halite, are harder to cut accurately and can easily crack or warp out of shape. Halite is also more scratch and scuff resistant than acrylic.
Thermoformed shaping Thermoforming is a plastic manufacturing process, where plastic materials are heated to a pliable temperature and formed into usable objects with a mould. Vacuum, air pressure and mechanical forming devices are used during this process, to assist the softened plastic reform into the new shape of the mould.

Thermoforming is achieved at a variety of different temperatures, but the most usual temperature for thermoforming Halite is approximately 140 degrees. At this stage, Halite can be stretched, formed and trimmed into the desired mould, creating the exact shape required. The semi matt surface is perfect material painting on, UV gloss paint is used to give a professional finish.

How to convert your towel rail Convert to electric l

Turn the towel rail upside down allowing you access to the two tapings at the bottom. Make sure these tapings are clean and free of debris. Using a funnel empty the required amount of Arley Thermo Oil (as shown in the Loco information grid) into the towel warmer With the funnel still in place slowly fill the towel rail with the required amount of tap water. After each litre, tilt the towel rail to the left & right, as this will help remove any trapped air. As the water begins to rise you want to fill up to approximately half of the bottom bar, as shown in Fig1. This is to allow for expansion when the towel rail is in operation. Now the towel rail is filled, insert the electric element and the blanking plug into the desired side.

After unpacking your new rail, fit the blanking plug and air vent correctly in the top of the ladder rail.

After unpacking your new rail, proceed as per a normal heating system installation. You must have purchased the correct size element and a ‘T’-piece, often referred to as a “dual fuel elbow”. Fit the elbow to the desired side of the rail. Screw the electric element through the elbow and into the towel rail. Complete the installation by piping water into the towel rail and connecting the element to a fused spur electrical supply*. 98

What is European Standard EN997:2003 The current European Standard relating to WC’s is BS EN 997:2003 (WC pans and WC suites with integral trap). This standard has the status of a British Standard. EN997:2003 outlines the requirements for WC’s from the perspective of construction and performance, emphasising functional criteria. Two classes of WC are identified within the standard. Class 1 covers suites for sale in mainland Europe, and a number of the tests are different from the UK requirements. Class 2 covers WC’s sold in the UK. Specific flush volumes are listed for the two classes of WC and are summarised as follows: l
Class 1 -
A nominal flush volume of four, five, six, seven or nine litres.
l
Class 2 -
A maximum flush volume of six litres for single flush WC’s. A maximum flush volume of six litres and a reduced flush no greater than two-thirds of this volume for dual-flush WCs.
Horizontal outlet (HO), what does it mean? What are the features and benefits? Horizontal Outlet describes the angle (horizontal) at which the outlet pipe leaves the back of the WC pan. It enables easier fixing of plastic outlet pipes and is adaptable/more flexible as the pipe work can be positioned in a variety of different ways, depending on the space available, the location of the soil stack and the position of the WC in relation to the external wall. This gives the builder and the customer greater choice in where to put the toilet.
P traps and S traps - what does it mean? What’s the difference? P and S simply describe the shape of the trap. In general, an ‘S’ trap goes out through the floor and a ‘P’ trap through the back wall.
What is IO (internal overflow) and how does it work? Overflow pipes were traditionally positioned so that any water leaking from a cistern could escape by dripping onto the floor or outside the building. This was a requirement under UK Water Byelaws to prevent waste of water: the principle was that a dripping overflow pipe was more likely to be noticed and the problem rectified. Internal Overflow is a system that allows any overflowing water from the cistern to be discharged into the toilet bowl. It is now allowed under Water Regulations January 2001.

Do Arley products conform to the water regs? Yes. All Arley WC suites fully conform with the requirements of the UK Water Regulations.
