Glossary of terms

Back to Wall (BTW) describes toilet pans that are fixed to a wall or back to wall furniture unit but also stand on the floor. These types of pans have the cistern concealed in the wall or unit. Back to wall pans do not require a WC frame.

Cistern the container that holds water for flushing the toilet pan.

Closed back used to describe close-coupled pans where the pan fits flush to the wall.

Close-coupled describes pans that are directly linked to an exposed cistern.

Comfort height pans where the seat height is slightly higher to aid comfort or disability.

Countertop basin a basin that is mounted completely on top of a bathroom surface.

Dual flush cistern buttons that are split to regulate the flush to either quick flush or full flush.

High level traditional style cisterns mounted high above the pan and connected by a long exposed pipe.

Low level traditional style cisterns that are mounted above the pan and connected by a short exposed pipe.

One or two taphole the number of pre drilled holes for use with either a pair of basin taps or a basin mixer.

Open back used to describe close-coupled pans where there is a gap between the pan and wall.

Pedestal a floor standing pillar for mounting a basin on.

Quick release used to describe toilet seats that can be released by pushing a button to facilitate cleaning.

Rimless pans providing a flush for the entire toilet bowl.

Semi-pedestal a wall fixed pillar for hanging a basin on.

Semi-recessed basins that are designed to overhang a bathroom surface.

Soft close used to describe toilet seats where the hinges allow the seat and lid to close without slamming.

Wall Hung pan describes a toilet pan that is fixed to a wall but does not also stand on the floor. This type of pan has the cistern concealed in the wall. Wall hung pans require a WC frame.

Wall hung basin a basin that is affixed directly to the wall without a pedestal or semi-pedestal.

Synergy baths are available in the following styles:

Shower baths (for left or right hand installation)

Zeya P shaped baths have a wider curve fronted end for added shower space. These require specific bath panels and shower screens.

Berg and Elite L shaped baths have a wider straight fronted end for added shower space. These require specific bath panels and shower screens.

Please note that on the Elite L, taps can only be fitted to the longest edge

The Evolve shower bath offers a more compact showering solution and can be used with a standard shower screen.

Double ended baths

These baths usually have the taps fitted centrally. The bath has sloping ends to facilitate more bathing options. The Berg Duo bath is designed for two people to share.

Single ended baths

Taps are usually fitted on these baths at the single sloping end.

The Berg Extra bath is deeper and holds more water for a more luxurious bathing experience.

Shaped baths

D shaped baths are perfect for positioning against a wall where there is space at either end. Taps are usually mounted on the non curved edge.

Our J shaped bath fits snugly into a non-recessed corner. Taps are normally installed at the short corner edge.

The Symetria and Eaglesham corner baths also fit a corner situation, the Symetria is a true corner bath which means the dimensions are symmetrical. The Eaglesham is longer on one edge and is available for either right or left handed installation. There are various option for the positioning of taps.

Premier finish

Premier finish is an option available for many Synergy baths, it is a surface added to the exterior of a bath to offer additional strength and longevity.

Premier finish is not just about adding strength to the bath, it also offers insulation – meaning that the bath will have better heat retention. This insulation means that you save on time, energy and money by not heating bath water back up or refilling the bath.

Premier finish is slightly thicker but not visually noticeable, it is naturally glossy, and easy to clean, which helps ensure that your bathroom looks shiny and sanitary.

What material is Halite made of?

Halite panels are constructed from a top quality UV stable expanded vinyl material known as Foamboard. High density PVC board is rigid and durable whilst still being lightweight and flexible.

PVC board is used for a variety of applications, one of the most popular being outdoor shop signage. This is due to it withstanding all of the elements but still remaining in good condition.

Advantages of Halite over other types of bath panels

• Halite is made with a combination of PVC and polyurea.

• Halite is 100% water resistant

• Halite will not crack or warp in wet or steamy environments.

• Halite is considerably more rigid than acrylic.

• Halite is completely formaldehyde free and is recyclable which means it is more eco-friendly.

Adjustable profiles

If the space you wish to install your enclosure is less than the standard sizes we offer or if the walls are slightly uneven, you can use the adjustment available on each profile to make a good fit.

On every size enclosure there are adjustable profiles This means that the enclosure may be altered slightly in order to fit a smaller space up to 40mm less than the stated size of the enclosure.

How is this possible?

There is space within the wall profile where you can align your door, either very close to the wall or further away. Adjustment only reduces the size of the enclosure, thus, the largest size for adjustment is the actual measurement of the enclosure.

As an example: If you purchase a Vodas 6 framed 1000mm sliding door enclosure. The profiles of the enclosure can be adjusted to fit a space between 950mm - 990mm.

Adjustment can also be used if you have uneven walls, perhaps because you have an older property.

• Every enclosure can be adjusted by up to 40mm less than the stated enclosure size.

• Adjustments can only decrease enclosure size.

• Adjustments can be used for uneven walls or an irregular space.

How to convert to electric

After unpacking the new rail, fit the blanking plug and air vent correctly in the top of the towel rail. Turn the towel rail upside down allowing access to the two tappings at the bottom. Make sure these tapings are clean and free of debris.

Using a funnel empty the required amount of Thermo Oil into the towel warmer

With the funnel still in place slowly fill the towel rail with the required amount of tap water.

After each litre, tilt the towel rail to the left & right, as this will help remove any trapped air.

As the water begins to rise it needs to fill up to approximately half of the bottom bar. This is to allow for expansion when the towel rail is in operation.

Now the towel rail is filled, insert the electric element and the blanking plug into the desired side.

The towel rail is now ready for fitting and connecting to a fused spur electric supply*

How to convert to dual fuel

After unpacking the new rail, proceed as per a normal heating system installation.

The correct size element (see next page) and a ‘T’-piece, often referred to as a “dual fuel elbow” are required.

Fit the elbow to the desired side of the rail. Screw the electric element through the elbow and into the towel rail.

Complete the installation by piping water into the towel rail and connecting the element to a fused spur electrical supply*

*Please note: It is recommended that electrics should be fitted by a qualified electrician.
