özeliğini koruyan kilise, Bornova Suphi Koyuncuoğlu Lisesi girişinin yanında bulunmaktadır. Hüseyin İsa Bey Camisi: Büyük Cami olarak da anılan Hüseyin İsa Bey Camisi’nin 14. yüzyılda yapıldığı sanılmaktadır. Mülkiyeti Vakıflar Genel Müdürlüğüne ait olan bu camii Ergene Mahallesi 453 Sokak’ta yer almaktadır. Ahşap, maksure (etrafı çevrili) kubbeli, bir minareli, son cemaat yeri revaklıdır. İç kapının üzerinde Hüseyin İsabey Camisi’nin 1153 Hicri yıllarında zamanın seçkin kişilerinden sayılan Seyit Ali Ağa tarafından tamir edildiği belirtilmektedir. Kayıtlara göre Seyit Ali Ağa, Kızlar Ağası iken Bornova’ya büyük bir vazife ile tayin edilmiş bir kimsedir. Müştemilatında cami avlusunun kuzeybatısında, düzgün olmayan sekizgen planlı bir türbe bulunmaktadır. Devşirme malzeme kullanılarak inşa edildiği sanılan caminin bazı sütunlarının Halkapınar tarafından getirildiği ve Artemis Tapınağı’na ait olduğu düşünülmektedir.

Religious buildings that are the meeting point of faiths Bornova has a profound history because it was one of the first settlement areas in Izmir. The reign of different civilizations has resulted in different religious structures. Santa Maria Catholic Church and St. Mary Magdalena Church are religious buildings that are still active today. Hüseyin İsa Bey Mosque, located in the center of

the borough, is one of the oldest mosques in the region. Santa Maria Catholic Church: The church, located on Cumhuriyet Square right next to Kars Elementary School, was built in 1797. The structure, which was constructed in the Byzantine style by the Franciscan order, was restored in 1832. There are the tombs of some famous Levantines that have lived in Izmir in the yard of the church. St. Mary Magdalena Church (British Church): St. Mary Magdalena Church was commissioned by Whittal and built in 1857 and has served the British community for many years. The church, which retains its original state, is located next to the entrance of Bornova Suphi Koyuncuoğlu High School.
