Christopher Laack
Christopher Laack is a versatile leader in Architecture, Urban Design and Master Planning with a focus on delivering complex projects for demanding clients. He has expansive global experience leading the design of projects in the US, South America, Europe, the Middle East and across Asia and navigating clients through the intricate requirements of multiple project types – Retail, Office, Hospitality, Residential, Mixed-Use, Civic, Cultural, Academic, Urban Community Developments and Master Planning. Currently, Chris is based in Houston as the Commercial Practice Leader for VLK Architects developing and implementing growth strategies while also providing project leadership to the teams located across five locations in Texas. Prior to his current role, Chris was a board member of RMJM Dubai’s executive team and served as the Project Director for several high-profile projects in Dubai including: the 2017-18 Cityscape Global Future Retail award winning Gate Avenue at DIFC, the master planned business park, Innovation Hub launched by HH Sheikh Mohamed, and the DIFC Grand Mosque, winner of the 2022 Loop Design Awards Religious & Spiritual Architecture category. Injecting aesthetic aspirations while exceeding commercial objectives of the client, Chris believes in pushing the boundaries of design to create inspiring, thoughtful buildings and places that contribute to the built environment of both local and global communities.
